To reiterate, I can't imagine they're intended to be supported by multiple gems.

Its hard to imagine a single unlinked vaal gem could be effectual in high level content.

If the gem can't be used when on CD, I would have to agree. However, they could be useful for trigger gems.

You should go back to the video and listen to what Chris is saying when he starts talking about the Vaal skill gems.


He says "Vaal skills however are ancient and brutal and charge up as you kill the enemy so as i kill monsters i get the ability to use a more powerful version of the skill"



I think he's saying the VAAL skill gems charge up when THEY are used and then let you use a more powerful version of the skill. You don't use a regular skill gem to power up then the Vaal gem to unleash the more powerful version. You do both with the 1 gem. Could be wrong but that is what it sounds like to me.

That would be pointless power creep at no cost.

Use the exact same skills as you have now except you can unleash a super version every 2 minutes at no cost or drawback.

If i'm right the drawback would be that the gems are corrupted, we don't know the negative effects of using corrupted items and gems yet.

I am beginning to wonder if the drawback is monsters use corrupted skills also. Daisy chain Vaal Smash incoming...
