[3.10] Sovyn's Lazy Pally - Tanky Templar with Max Block

Hi Sovyn,

Just want to thank you again. The idea to go to the BoR was genius and with the ascendency points, my character is now doing 39k DPS with only my auras and not counting any flasks or charges, pretty happy with it.

Now I'm trying to fine tune my character by maxing the quality of my gems. Do you have a specific order of gems I should upgrade first? I assume static strike should be first, but should I perfect my auras over the other support gems? I'll most likely have to do the lvl 20 gem + 1 GCP as it will be the cheaper, yet more time consuming way. Thanks.

I'm a total noob and I'm very bad with melee chars but I'm enjoying your build so far. Being a noob, as I said, I'm not the best to evaluate weapons. What do you think about the one I'm using now? (self found, so far).

It's 255 pdps, should be fine until 72 maps or so if you skip merciless malachai. A doryani's catalyst is cheap and a massive upgrade at levels 75+.

The supports on the attack skill first like WED, added fire, multi, the static strike gem itself (10% AOE size can't hurt). These are all just small improvements. After all that herald of ash and maybe curse on hit. The CWDT stuff is harder, have to level a second set of gems on chest or weapon swap, roll to 20 quality at the vendor then stop releveling at the correct level to replace the ones you are using. I didn't bother with the CWDT stuff myself but there are small benefits to be had. I wouldn't even bother with hatred at all unless you are always running with a buddy that doesn't have it but might benefit.
I'm currently testing this configuration:

With only activated Herald of Ice and Hatred and no other buffs:

Glacial Hammer (L16Q20)

Static Strike (L20Q20)

Do you think it has a future? Or the subsequent SS's explosions still are more worthwhile in the end of it all?

I do not intend to change the color of armor because I share with another character. I thought of replacing the Multistrike by Added Fire Damage (because of the mana savings and some improvement in the attacks) but I ended up losing about 5k DPS.

I also thought of using Hypotermia. But then things change a bit.

What enchants (helm, boots, gloves)should this spec farm for on the Divine font in the lab?

It's hard to compare but I can tell you that static's explosions are a lot of damage and true AOE. It's a little over 25K DPS in your case on top of what the tooltip says.

Also your Glacial Hammer is not a true AOE you would need melee splash in there and the tooltip goes down.

Glacial Hammer will kill monsters just fine but it will kill slower than static strike - get a stopwatch and try it out yourself to see what I'm talking about.

The odds are probably incredibly low but the best for helm would be something that works with your attack skill. Assuming static strike one of these:

"
EnchantmentStaticStrikeDamage1 66 25% increased Static Strike Damage
EnchantmentStaticStrikeDamage2 75 40% increased Static Strike Damage
EnchantmentStaticStrikeDuration1 66 30% reduced Static Strike Duration
EnchantmentStaticStrikeDuration2 75 45% reduced Static Strike Duration
EnchantmentStaticStrikeRadius1~ 66 8% increased Static Strike Radius
EnchantmentStaticStrikeRadius2 75 12% increased Static Strike Radius

Gloves I have no idea, haven't looked at all the effects. Not sure if any one in particular is better than the others. I got this one:

Looks like little ice arrows come out from my character in a star pattern every time I kill something. I don't notice any difference other than the visual effect but if I did it would be overpowered.

Boots, most options look fine. The most damage would be the attack speed. We have plenty of that though and sooner or later you can't keep up with the mana cost if you keep piling it on. The "90% increased Critical Strike Chance if you haven't Crit Recently" might be a good goal. 'Recently' is 4 seconds I believe. The dodge and elemental penetration are fine as well. The only ones I see that are probably not the best are the stun avoidance and maybe the reduced mana cost of skills if you don't have any mana problems. I'd re-roll those and maybe first tier rolls of anything else.
Thanks for your response.

I do not need to use the stopwatch, the thing is visible. You're right.

Just out of curiosity, with regard to gloves, I got the same in two of them:

I liked. Despite a slight increase in the lag, the effect created is to shoot flares spiral towards the attack. Enemies that are hit ignite and burn. That is, in my case (GH), I have an attack that uses three elements simultaneously.

The buffs that I can have that moment also influence the power of that enchantment?

Support gems won't work with the enchantment but I believe buffs you have up like hatred and Atziri's Promise would probably work.

Here's the skill description:

Word of Fury

Repeatedly fires a piercing projectile based on your weapon, converting some physical damage to fire. The projectiles form an arc in front of you.
Attack with this Skill when you Hit
Fires 10 Projectiles in a spiral
100% Chance of Projectiles Piercing
x-x Fire Damage
x-x Physical Damage

By the way static strike usually does all three elements as well. Hatred for cold (I freeze quite often actually), herald of ash and added fire damage damage support.
