Any Gay Players?

-such as myself. Just wondering because I rarely, if not ever but once, encountered someone in an mmo that said so. I don't go and ask everyone if they are gay, or even say I am unless it's brought up, but I'm just wondering how many replies this thread would get.

interesting question...I would say firstly this isn't technically an MMO in the traditional sense and secondly even though I am not gay I would say that you could always create an LGBT corner or something (we have country groups so why not?). I don't think many people use games like this as a platform to discuss sexuality but it would be interesting to see a community embrace gamers of all sexualities for once instead of using them as jumping off points for jokes. I certainly look forward to seeing what becomes of the thread.

I would suggest not creating a corner specifically for gay people, as it would invite alot of ridicule from alot of people round here, as there are alot of immature people round here,
(Not that I condone the ridicule or mockery in any way)that will mock anyone for anything.

I appreciate your thought but are you honestly suggesting that they should just hide away then? I think that the OP was brave posting on here as you are right he will almost certainly take a bashing but then again by simply following your advice and being afraid of ridicule just reinforces the negative behavior of others. If he created a group and it flourished and they simply ignored the negative comments then that would be a real win for the game. Also at the end of the day it's an online forum, if the OP can stomach some nasty words and the mods can keep things somewhat civil whats the worst that could happen?

I would not have him hide, nor any other race/sexuality/difference of any sort.

Tho I have seen these types of things turn bad nearly every single time. As this is the internet, and alot of people cannot handle anonymity.

I would rather not see it turn to, some people coming in and mocking op/gay community.
Then op not expecting ridicule or a fight, then being offended and fighting.

Also most importantly I started my post with "I suggest", as it was only a suggestion =p.
As I would not like the op to get flamed/trolled/baited.

Brave for posting this? Nah. I grew up in Mississippi as openly gay, therefore I know being ridiculed on the internet is nothing compared to being harassed in person. Creating an LGBT group would be interesting, but in order to do so there would need to be more than just a handful of us to keep it active. Finding said people is few and far in-between on a game's thread.

I'm afraid this whole thing is a non-event. People are people are people. Their gender preference is about as important as the length of their toe nails.

Personally I, and the the people I spend time with, don't care who or what you are as long as you're a decent human being.

The lesson of history is that labels stuck on people inevitably leads to conflict. Let's try and avoid this...

BUT if you should find yourself under attack as a result of initiating this thread you may count on my support.

I would hope that ignoramuses would stay away from that thread. If anyone did bash on it they'd be a dick and deserve a lashing!
