Any Gay Players?

I don't venture into Off Topic Land very often, but I'm glad this thread exists and has been mostly civil.
The sub conversation regarding minority groups is one of those things that it's really difficult to reconcile in text. But I would like to point out that it isn't the queer community or any other group that has been oppressed that is seeking to make an issue of the differences of that group. That is, the queer community isn't the group pushing the focus onto sexuality, it's the intolerant, largely religious population that consistently makes it into an issue. In many places in the world, one's ability to simply exist, go to work, hang out with friends, and live a free life is constantly being threatened based on something completely out of their own control. Add to that a pervasive use of denigrating slang, and you get a group of people who have a different life experience compared to those who can go through their lives without having to have a fact of their identity and nature used as slang for "stupid", "bad", etc... And it is completely natural to want to meet others who have a similar life experience. Because sometimes you want to play a video game without having your recreation interrupted by "that sword is gay", "that rare mob was such a fag", etc... TL;DR - queer community isn't the one making the issue about sexuality, the bigots are. Finding a group of people to play with that can give you a break from a world where a good number of people hate you for just existing is natural, good, and in every way applicable to gaming. So I'm confused... what's the point of the thread and why does it matter if someone is or isn't gay? Everyone is a person and each person has their own thing. It should not matter what their thing is unless it infringes upon you.
No I'm not gay, no I don't care if your gay. I have some close friends that are and sometime I can't tell if there messing around with me on purpose to make me feel uncomfortable but it's all in good fun no hard feelings and I do the same to them. Anyways, true story, I was out drinking with one of my friends and we were both drunk at a party. For what ever reason we played chicken... he won... I did not know he was bi till after that and it didn't matter still friends with him still go out and drink... but don't play chicken with him anymore.... Twitch.tv/Nithryok
