ExileCon Announcements

It's hard enough to wait after seeing a release days before launch, now I get a year. I look forward to all the upcoming changes and am glad we dont have to wait till 4.0 for all of them.

And for all of you hating that there was a Twitch drop scam, it wasn't. You may have been unlucky, or you may have failed to correctly link your account and/or watch it on POE's Twitch account. Then there is also the backlog of drops that I assume have all been handed out already. I got 2 myself.

Thanks GGG!

ExileCON.
Yeah I feel like I have been CONNED.

Thanks for 0 drops while some people got 6 to 9.
I hate you!

A couple of thoughts for GGG ahead of 4.0 ...

tl;dr - Hopefully you don't keep repeating the same mistakes again in the future

1. Make character definition and development part of the main game.

If the new way of accessing prestige classes is just another tacked-on minigame that doesn't change across prestige classes and requires specialized skills / knowledge not applicable anywhere else in the game, then the lore / world building connections are likely to be tenuous and it's going to be non-immersive for many. If it's complicated, on top of looking and feeling like a(nother) tacked-on minigame with silly lore, then you'll quite likely get a similar level of hate directed toward it as you did with lab.

2. Introduce planning for RNG limiters for more of the things added into the game, *especially* for things that affect character definition and development.

GGG seems to default to allowing extreme RNG even for the most basic game systems, only putting RNG limiters in place after extensive negative feedback from players. Why not plan on RNG limiters from the beginning for at least the most basic aspects of the game, such as character definition and development? Why do you wait until you've frustrated / pissed off / sometimes driven away players before fixing something that is so obviously not a great idea?

On a related note, it was very annoying to wait many levels beyond when characters are ready to run eternal lab before getting the final trial. Trials themselves were annoying and very boring, but the RNG made doing them even more unpleasant.
Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

Noob question but what exactly are they referring to when they say 3.9 or 4.0? I'm confused.
