[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!

ok no nerfs (or buffs) for any build according to GGG in 3.18.

So all versions from 3.17 sound like they could be played identically.

The guys from POB must be rejoicing :)

When the 3.18 POB is available I will be adding a slightly changed version for the Inquisitor. I believe it will be overall stronger due to no longer needing a life flask and in its place I am adding in a Basalt flask in its place to give us more armor and taunt.

No news about new skill gems though, unfortunatly :(
Was hoping to be able to make some sort of new char.

Those new Atlas keystones look fun though!!
oh wow, I almost skipped right over this in the patch notes. This is possibly a large buff to our Incin damage, obviously at a cost that is going to be insane.

Do you think there are levels to these gems or just a single level?

=======

Added 3 new Awakened Support Gems: Awakened Empower, Awakened Enhance and Awakened Enlighten

Ok I found the info. These awakened versions have 4 levels. So the only way the Awakened Version will be more powerful than an Empower 4 is to level the awakened to 4, and then corrupt it to a level 5.

I am not even going to guess at how insanely expensive that will be.

Jup, agree, probably very strong (well the Empower one atleast, doesn't seem like Enlighten will change the build much, since we already fit in all aura's quite easily), but VERY expensive probably, and time consuming. Leveling it from lvl 3 to 4 should take a LOOOOOOONG time, considering how much xp it already takes to lvl from 2 to 3.
Even though I dont play this build anymore (holding down incinerate makes my fingers numb, I prefer totems now) I still enjoy the theorycrafting we've done together :)

Incinerate feels like ass without cast speed and AOE, so when you first get it at level 12 it sucks to level with it, at least to me. I just wanted to share how I league start/level nowadays.

I always create a shadow first and do the island quest. This is so I get cobra lash, added poison and volley skill gems, as well as quicksilver. Then I create my main. Cobra lash is awesome because it bounces around so it kills packs very efficiently, and claw weapons often have +life gained per hit so you are super tanky. Add flame totem and flame wall (which adds damage to both flame totem and cobra lash projectiles) and it's easy mode to level 12, and you have 2 quicksilver flasks now. After you finish the eggs quest you can also get holy relic, your projectile hits will proc it for extra damage and heals.

Once I hit 12 I used to do scorching ray, holy totem with combustion. After the skill damage buff arc with crafted +X lightning damage to spells wands is very good. So I thought ok this is the way... until...

I don't play minion builds so I never tried absolution, but tried it after subtractem used it on a recent stream. Holy crap this hits hard. With the crafted wands, added lightning damage and phantasm it's super easy. After 18 you can swap phantasmal or added lightning for concentrated effect when you get the gem.

Btw if you can't craft the wands at 12 yet, you can keep going with cobra lash, it doesnt fall off in damage until maybe 16-20ish (this is all without passive tree support and a vendor claw that maybe you throw an essence on)

Anyways, not much to do since no balance changes at all, besides trying to decide which totem build to start with, so here I am typing :D

Have you tried explosive arrow totem? I'm thinking of starting with that this league...
No I haven't, not to end game at least. Elementalist is supposedly the best for that, in softcore, and a lot of praise for it on reddit and stuff. The only thing I'm afraid of is it's going to be popular, so not sure how the gear prices will be. It's also not that tanky, although I found this one on ninja that looks pretty tanky and great damage: https://pastebin.com/BeLRtiUt

The bad thing about not using hierophant is mana, but going hierophant you will have trouble capping ignite until later, elementalist gets 100% ignite on their first ascendency.
