Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas Teasers

Fyi for those unsure about it - Triple Damage does not stack with Double Damage. You either get one or the other. So there's no point getting Double Damage chance as well with The Annihilating Light.

Also this only works for Hits. DoT skills will see no benefit.

Finally the resistance penalty is multiplicative. This is NOT -63% resists. For a simple example, after the Act 10 -60% resist penalty, you need a total of 135% resists to hit the usual 75% resist cap (75 + 60). If you have an item with 50% reduced resists, then all the resists you pick up would be 50% weaker. And yes, this works the other way around for negative resistances i.e. they'll be halved too. So with -60% resists, 50% reduced will make it -30%. Basically 50% reduced halves your resists - on either side of the number line.

Staff seems extremely OP broken and I don't understand how it isn't.

If you're playing against a boss that has no way to instantly hit you then you can just keep this on your weapon swap, hit X, bomb the boss for infinity damage, GG. Who cares if I have no resists if I can't be hit????

It's equivalent or better than mirror tier weapons only it's unique. 100ex+ item? Maybe I'm dumb here.
Honestly, I'm kind of hyped just to be rid of Scourge league. It was by far my least favorite expansion so far.

The part about all the resists you pick up would be 50% weaker is wrong. You'll need 210% resistance to hit 75%, not 270%.

I see where you need that many resistance with a multiplicative -63%... basically it says that all your resistances on your gear is 63% less than what it is displayed. A +10% fire resistance would become a +3.7% one.

If my math are correct, that also means that the -60% from Kitava becomes a -22.2%.

Overall you would need 22.2 + 75 = 97.2 / 0.37 = 262.7 to hit 75% resist.

They made the new staff a reduced percentage instead of a flat -X to resistances so that it would not be OP in combination with Doryani's Prototype.

Which is too bad because that would have been noice!

It would be 3.7%, but thats not true either, since it is calculated after all resistances are added, so if your resists are positive, resists from -60% to 0% are basically not affected by this reduction.

Edit. With 63% reduction you basically need 60+75/(1-0.63) resists to hit 75% cap which adds to 262.7% in each resistance from gear/passives/whatever.

Same conclusion after my edit :)

So would you need 60+140/0.63= 317.46 negative lightning resistance if you wanted to cap out at -200 for a Doryani's combo with a lightning skill?

I think it would be 200/(1-0.63)-60 = 480.5 resist.
