Game periodically stops responding to input for seconds or minutes

This has happened to me for awhile, but it generally got worse later in a league: now it's happening fairly often in A1 and I don't really want to deal with it anymore.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a desync or something else (/oos does nothing), but periodically the game just stops receiving server responses and the latency graph goes vertical. This lasts anywhere from seconds to minutes before it rubberbands and catches up (including taking any actions I input in the meantime: I've been able to save myself from death by spamming attacks even though they're not going off).

It's not caused by any particular action I take: it happens while sitting in town.

I tried both network modes and multiple gateways and those don't seem to alleviate the issue. Task Manager looks fine, so I don't think it's anything wrong with my computer (and I've never seen anything like this in any other game). I can believe this is some sort of network routing issue but I'm not sure how to fix that.

I was just going to post my problems with this exact issue:

High latency spikes at seemingly random (but extremely frequent) intervals, no inputs necessary, just lag where I freeze and the rest of the world goes on (usually killing me and then disconnecting me after for good measure). Freezes for fractions of seconds, seconds and sometimes minutes. It happens multiple times a minute. I haven't been through a single zone (towns included) without lag.

Multiple gateways, different styles of connection to my own internet connection and no changes. Internet health checks online show no problems. Other games work fine.

For me, this happened pre-Sentinel but it wasn't so bad or as common. Mid-Sentinel, the issues became more intense so I just quit.

Additionally, my housemate is also experiencing the same issues though their lag spikes are not as intense nor are they getting as frequent disconnects. However, for PoE it's still unplayable when it comes to endgame when second-long hiccups gets one killed every 5 maps.
For what it's worth I seem to be having the same issue. The only difference for me is I get kicked to the log-in screen after about 30-40 seconds.

Can confirm I NEVER get any kind of system lag while these disconnects happen. Constant 3ms CPU and 5ms GPU, quite literally the only bar on the performance monitor that moves at all on my system is the Latency.

Just for the heck of it, I even tried setting all my graphic settings to bare mins. Nothing improved. Tried changing between lockstep and predictive just for giggles. Nada. Tried like 5 different servers as well, and while it "seemed" some took longer to disconnect me, still can't seem to stay connected for more than like 15 minutes.

Also ran a constant check on my internet itself to make sure I was not getting drop outs on my end and after 2 hours not a single second of dropped connection for my internet connection, literally barely had any ping jumps for that matter let alone actual drops during the test. (While PoE disconnected at least 30 times).

*Edit* I seem to have found what was actually causing the issue for me, while lucky for me, unfortunately I am almost certain I had a unique issue, so I doubt this will help anyone else.

Turned out for me, somehow my computer was trying to use my VPN's network even though I was disconnected from the VPN. Oddly it worked perfectly for every other program that used an internet connection (and yes I confirmed it was using my "natural" ip connection and not being rerouted through the vpn, as in ip tests showed my ip address and not a VPN connection)

In the end though reconnecting to my vpn and disconnecting, followed by a computer restart (just for good measure) seems to have done it for me as windows now shows my correct network so I am no longer "half connected" to my vpn. So far no disconnects in over an hour.

It really is a shame - I am having this since I started playing a month ago...I thought it was my connection but I alt+tab when this happens and my connection is fine (i even left a ping console on the side to make sure)

I am using the Sao Paulo gateway, my latency starts increasing vertically and sometimes it even kicks me out to login screen.

And this is totally random, I have entire sessions where this won't happen and suddenly it does.

We need someone to look into this, I wanted to play hardcore but with this happening I simply won't risky it.

Hi I've been experiencing what I believe to be the exact same issue. I've tried practically everything on my end. Game can run totally fine for several hours, or be absolutely unbearable for several hours.

All graphs are normal. CPU/GPU at 5ms/6ms. 90-120fps. Latency will spike and just start climbing. Sometimes it fixes itself and will catch up (rare), sometimes it will kick to menu after an unknown time, or it will just... keep climbing until I hit escape and force it to the login screen. I've seen it go up to 275k ping lmao.

This isn't normal. Somethings going on. The latency spikes are happening ONLY in PoE - no other applications (discord calls, streams, anything) experience any sort of lag, latency/ping increase, delays/interruptions, nothing.

Straight up makes the game super frustrating. Pls help.
happening to me to. spikes up to comical ping then dc's. cant progress and super sad, also server doesnt matter. Never had this problem before
The exact same thing happens to me. I've tried switching servers, restarting, validating the game install, deleting shader cache and even trying different in-game zones. Nothing works. The ping can be stable for the most part, until I start to do something. At that point the latency spikes, which feels really bad when playing.

I posted a /bug report about it as well.
My most hated game.
My most favorite game.
Such is the duality of man.
same here. Had the issues also in the past, but currently its really nasty in some zones
Same issue here... any response from GGG?
I won't let this get buried down until we have a response, will do daily ups in this if necessary.

I am pretty sure this is on GGG's side.
