Nerfing Defensive Archnemesis Modifiers

To throw my humble, somewhat "newbie" hat into the ring...

Archnem worked really well as a league mechanic where you "built" your own enemy with specific modifiers so you could avoid the ones you didn't want to face with your current build.

The current problem is that they just randomly show up and heavily juice potentially already extremely deadly mobs to near unkillable levels or to the point where you get teleport-oneshot across the screen by monsters moving at the speed of Sonic.

I think one of the core issues is that Archnem lost its opt-in feature. By removing the ability to selectively pick and choose which modifiers you want to face and which you'd rather avoid, you could ensure that your build could face the monster you were about to unleash on yourself.

I think the solution would be to turn the Archnem mechanic back into an opt-in like almost every other League mechanic: Let people walk up to the chained monsters, identify them, read the modifiers and decide whether to take the fight for better loot, or avoid this particular foe and leave it imprisoned. It's the same princple as Essences, Strongboxes, Oils, etc.

I think people are justifiably mad that a very difficult (and random) part of a League mechanic is no longer opt-in.

Just my two cents, anyway.

PS: Please give us a floating luminescent Jellyfish pet.

It's no use simply reducing defense. Frequent sudden death in the game is a bad experience.
Loot still feels terrible. Even after 10000000 buffs you guys got us badly hurt in trust pretty much :)


Just remove this Archnemesis garbage and never bring it back the entire Community hates it and you Guys go ahead with your stubborn thinking.

It would be lovely if Heralding Minions and Lightning Mirages also receive some tuning down. In my opinion, these two are by far the most annoying.

Why can't we just remove them? First league I haven't played and I'm not sure I'm returning until they are removed.

AG shouldn't be killed in single digit seconds when built like a literal tank.

all minions die like they are wet cardboard even if you gear defenses.

Unrelatedly, project 1999 is a pretty cool game if you like classic Everquest. It's terrible if you like what EQ has become over time, which is an absurd monstrosity of modernity.

- Stop lying and manipulating the community by not mentioning and documenting changes you made?

- AN: "We tested it extensively, and were happy with the level of difficulty when we released it" (3.18) / Why are you THIS OBSESSED with Archnemesis, it's been a mistake to hold on to this concept over such a long time, why are you wasting everybody's time by not giving it up?

- Why is there a 32:9 'fix' nobody asked for or is satisfied with?

- Loot is the core of the game and you reduced it while not adding anything to compensate this. It's not working, no fun, nobody wants it, so what's the point here?
