I believe using awakened trade is a grey area. I once asked GGG about it and they advised they are against using any programs that interact with the game client to provide an advantage over other players, as this may result in permaban. They were unable to guarantee if a tool is allowed or would remain allowed in the future and advised that if it is unsure if a tool falls within these guidelines, it is best to refrain from such tools.
Just reading this, it would mean that it is not allowed because it does give an advantage over players not using it. On the other side, a lot of players are using it including streamers.
However, I do not want to risk my account with the money I spend on it so I prefer to stay away from tools like this and just continue to get frustrated every time I want to look up a items worth...
Awakened POE is an overlay. It doesn't interact with POE game files or client at all. It merely copies the text of the item in your inventory and sends an API call to Path of Exile trade site with filters matching the attributes (prefix / suffix) of your item. I am pretty sure OP got banned for something else and he just blames it on Awakened POE.

They will give that same answer for every single 3rd party tool regardless of what it does or how it works, it's just their policy to say they don't recommend it so they can cover themselves. As the previous poster mentioned it only interacts with your clipboard data rather than the game client directly.

Amusingly enough they could easily get rid of the majority of trade bots if they would actually decide to ban third party garbage like awakened trade as a lot of bots seem to abuse it exclusively.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Pretty much every player who trades a lot uses awakened PoE trade for quick pricing. Highly doubt it was that.

LOL, there's no grey area. Awakened doesn't interact with the client, it's a freaking overlay for f sakes.
