Doing Ubers will not make you enjoy the game more, playing a good decent build and thinking "this build might actually be able to do ubers" will. Its the getting there that should be fun. Also what kind of casual gamer would be attracted to a game that in theory never ends.

but of course. It's snowing outside and it's -10 degrees. But my equipment consists of a t-shirt and pretty pink shorts. Now I fantasize about walking with it for hours because in my opinion it's summer outside and I'm ready for any adventure...................

Some people bathe in ice. I prefer it cozy and secure. It's called personal preference, and there's nothing wrong with either one.
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
Easy. You play Ruthless.
for me after 1000h of casual gameplay best poe experience is trade league with one simple rule - buy only fragments and maps, sell anything.
With this rule you take the best from ssf and non-ssf gameplay -
From ssf world you get gradual character power creep and enjoyment from dropped rare/unique items, divcards etc (not from currency only)
From trade world you are happy when you find something that you can sell, and unlike ssf you can spend currency to get access for any endgame activities you want - pinnacle bosses, breaches, blights, expeditions (in pure ssf, for example, you can't farm maven frequently, and loot from maven is 95% not for your build).
And you can play with friends.
I personally not recommend ruthless because problem is not in item scarcity but in league mechanic scarcity in maps (chances to spawn them reduced). and to get to pinnacle bosses you need much more time.
Personally... ever since I tried SSF, my focus on the game shifted from earning as much money, to just finding and crafting the best gear~ (And hopefully killing Ubers)

Less pressuring in SSF now that I think about it
"For we are not now that strength, which in old days moved Earth and Heaven. That which we are, we are; one equal strength of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will: to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." - Ulysses, Tennyson
In the end it’s all about playing the right build for the right content.
This thread is dumb.

All the criticism in this thread comes from a disproportion between casual players' goals/ambitions and their investment into the game. The only way for a casual player to enjoy PoE, is to lower their goals/expectations. If a casual player expects/demands to be able to do 'everything', he's better off finding another game. If a casual player is OK with being a casual player and hence won't be able to roflstomp everything, there is TONS of fun to be had in PoE for casual players.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
PoE always have over estimated how much free time a grown up has, so...
Ruthless should be [Removed by Support].

the drops are the same for ssf?
So you can play normally and just run away from every player and ignore the trade website?
Everything in SSF is the same, only no trade and MP.
I play always SSF 😇
