Please explain to me how casual are supposed to enjoy poe?
Same sentiment as most others here... I don't think PoE is a casual game - I mean even opening the passive skill tree when you first start the game proves to be super daunting~
However, I do think it can be "casual" enough for someone to just pick up and play a few hours of, and still enjoy it like for instance - I think some league mechanics like Blight or Legion was one of the most friendly ones imo "For we are not now that strength, which in old days moved Earth and Heaven. That which we are, we are; one equal strength of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will: to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." - Ulysses, Tennyson Last edited by Cowrex on Sep 8, 2023, 2:19:37 AM

It can be enjoyable if you mostly limit yourself to Standard, especially if you're still learning the mechanics etc. There's no time limits of any kind so you can just go at your own pace when you feel like it. The "core" game is fairly large, and still gets expanded occasionally, like we've seen with Sanctum.
The end is nigh

this game isn't for casuals really
lets be honest you can play as a casual but you will get about 10% of what the game has to offer (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س

Hmm.. I guess NOBODY started this game as a "Pro" or faultless player.
And I guess we have to define "casual" in this case. You definetely can have lots of fun as a "casual" player in POE. Seeing the sill tree for the first time for example, can be daunting. But that refers to NEW players, not to CASUAL players. There can be fun in learning thigs, finding things out. Looking at the forums, at all the complaints... "I only make x Divines a day" lalala etcetera... I actually think a casual player can have MORE fun, exploring new things, enjoying drops here and there... than those tryhards who put 12 hours a day into POE, to gather huge amounts of currency / hour which they don't care about anymore once the league ends anyway. ^^ Casuals who are into a varied experience in an ARPG will deffo have fun, as long as they don't start to see this game as an exonomic simulation. |

The bottom line is PoE is not for casual players. It never has been.
I don’t bother with seasons any more. If I get the urge to play, I just do Standard League. It’s fun - at least in small doses. |

personally I've enjoyed poe as a semi-casual (not sure how one defnes casual), I'm working my way up throug maps now, starting on some red maps and filling out the atlas still. I need to do a gear upgrade soon though. Exploring every type of special content, there's quite a few I haven't even tried speccnig for yet in my yeras of play.
The key is to simply enjoy playing for its own sake; and/or to enjoy building up over time, and learning mor eabout the game. |

Imagine what a modern ARPG or other game would look like, if it were made, advertised and sold under the slogan "only for casuals"!?
Regardless of the fact that many players say "I am casuals" and feel that way, you must understand that games are not made for "casuals" and that you are not needed by the game industry. Last edited by xaerobb on Sep 9, 2023, 9:43:26 AM

They're not. It's not a game for casuals. |

Well the game seems to have content for both casuals and further content for non-casuals. If us casuals could do EVERYTHING casually, what's left for the folks with too much time on their hands? They'd be done in a few hours like us and then there'd be no more content for them to finish. Don't you see, O.P.?
