An "additive" more modifier is still miles above normal additive increased damage. Also it's +1 chain at 20% quality, with enhance and ashes you could likely hit +3 chains. It's a pretty dang huge buff.
Granted you'd have to make space for the enhance which is already a pretty high damage lose in most cases. The extra 2 chains won't likely really get in the damage you lose with the other missing support you have to sacrifice.
Enhance or quality stacking will be useful/powerful on skills like Power Siphon for example cause the damage gain is quite powerful for the single gem compared to the other support gem options.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. Last edited by Pashid on Dec 3, 2023, 2:55:46 PM

Power Siphon got huge nerf this league and I dont know why people are not freaking about it (instead they freak about RF). "Now Fires Projectiles at 4-7 nearby Enemies, instead of firing 4-7 additional Projectiles.". Which means its biggest nerf to single target dmg we ever seen in PoE history.

Overall this patch introduces significant buffs to the base game. The patch
that introduced Ancestor League was widely hailed as one of the best recent improvements, and this next patch is getting even MORE positive feedback.
A small number of skills & spells have been nerfed.
The vast number have been buffed.
There's now reasons to run Lab that aren't just "get your helm enchant".
Plus the league looks phenomenal, even without adding Ultimatum (which is huge just by itself).
Nerf overall?
Not even close.

Not if you use 'Barrage' instead?
Edit: Frost Wall interaction changes were maybe even bigger if you stick with Power Siphon.
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle! Last edited by Zrevnur on Dec 3, 2023, 3:50:32 PM

Barrage changes nothing. You are still losing 6 or 7 projectiles on single target because you wont spawn extra projectiles. You need extra enemies nearby to spawn them.
(If I understand the wording correctly)

Maybe there is some misunderstanding. You wrote about single target. In order to benefit from the extra projectiles for single target you need to use 'Barrage Support'? Thats what I assumed. And if you then switch to 'Barrage' (the skill, not the support) you dont lose so much single target DPS.
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

Ah I thought you mean barrage support. Honestly its been so long since I played any projectile build I forgot Barrage (skill) exsits.

Power Siphon is not for everyone. RF was for everyone, it's noob-friendly, league starter and had good QoL. PS is only good with investment.

"Noob friendly" - "only good with investment"
Those tow statements dont go together. If it was only good with investment, then why noobs play it?
