Banning people for exploits

Except GTA is an immersive experience and PoE is not. Your point is moot and this debate is so over

and yet it is totally related, as per your own comment. You claim the situation I brought up with GTA is inadmissible because thats what you are SUPPOSED to do in the game.

How is an exploit any different? You are SUPPOSED to create the most powerful character you can. You are SUPPOSED to get the best loot. You are SUPPOSED to interact with the game that the developers have given to you. You are SUPPOSED to interact with the market with your items.

It is all "regular gameplay" in this context. Bugs are design errors, and anyone's choice to interact with a bug is equivalent to a legitimate crime in your eyes? No, sorry, I will never get behind that. They have every right to ban me and others for doing something against their game rules. I disagree that this situation is "against" their game rules. But in no way shape or form is this even remotely to the level of "crime".

Whatever man....I'm happy that at least I am able to separate fiction from reality. I'm happy that I'm able to recognize that the faceless "me" in a virtual world is NOT the real "Me" you would meet on the street. I'm happy that the years of playing games across the 2000s where cheats were rampant and hacked items and hacked game code were a regular occurrence.....DIDN'T lead to me cheating on every test, hacking grades or money in a computer, stealing from my neighbors, etc. And this situation isn't even cheating.

Maybe some in this thread are the rare unicorn that have never cheated in a video game in their life? Or report every time something feels even a bit strange in a game? I kinda doubt it.

You should learn that every player should play by the same rules

Drawing inferences from behaviour displayed in video games has nothing to do with "being so immersed you cannot tell game from reality" you are in over your head, mister mefisto.

Very unbecoming behaviour indeed, but then again you are defending a guy who'd blame other people for his own misdeeds for giving him that opportunity, so it's not like you are ingrained in good ethics.

I'm so done arguing against your strawmen arguments. It's apparent for any sane person reading this conversation anyway
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

Ohhh, so all the exploiting cheaters, who abused a bug to create game rule-breaking items, were all just ROLE-PLAYING unethical opportunists, because that's why people play PoE. Thank you for clearing that up.
Let each player choose which version of PoE to play:
