Diablo (casual) Player, New in PoE: these are my thoughts :| (my first ever feedback)
I really hope this is read by devs and add to the list of improvements in the future. Because I`m so exited to play the next release of PoE2. Also, English is my second language, so be indulgent.
So I`ve started playing this game because I was following the PoE2 release and I was very curious to try the existing game. In a nutshell, the game kept my interest until lvl 23. I started as a Templar, in the Ruthless league, since it seems more appealing (with the item scarcity and all). All in all: 1. - Fight seemed sooo clunky at first. I was hitting with a club of some sort and it was taking me so much time to deliver a punch. If I was surrounded by more than two enemies the fight became almost impossible. By the time I was raising my hand to hit, I was already being hit by monsters and somehow my hit was being cancelled. Felt so stupid.. It became easier once I got to learn some spells .. Still, not a good mechanic. (i think it is a known thing, which is due to change in PoE2. Happy for this!) 2. - Passive skill tree.. yeah.. overwhelming, but I`m ok with the complexity. One quick thing to mention is that the search results could be better highlighted. However, the progress is tooo liniar (which I also don`t like in Diablo 4 at all). Even the key passive points (or, as I saw on the webpage, for ascendency classes) just give you some buff in damage, health, regen, etc. Nothing that really changes a mechanic for the fight. /// More refund points would have been nicer as well. 3. - Town portal - what the heck? Can`t I even assign a button on those scrolls? How about removing scrolls entirely? It seems hard to go back to town, since you have very few oof those. 4. - Inventory. Looks very unpolished. The items are so big and look soo ugly. /// Also, it took me a lot of time to realize I can Ctrl-click on the item too when selling at vendor. Most of my game I was manually drag and drop. Since Right Click was not working, I assumed the game is just stupid. Nothing to guide you on that, so I guess still stupid. 5. - The thing that made me quit: Exploration is sooo difficult! To understand: - I spent a lot of time trying too find the path to Act 2. I beat that mermaid monster multiple times, but I was not shown that arrow on the minimap for the next act, even if I was pretty close to that. I circled the cave at least three times (both levels), until eventually I got really close to that exit point after mermaid fight, then the arrow appeared. Felt so stupid. /// On the same note, the overlayed map (I think this is how it`s called. the one that D4 does not have), should show you at least the exit points you`ve visited and BE ABLE TO ZOOM OUT!! . I was also painfully searching for an exit from Crossroads in Act2, going back and forth, because I was never be able to see clearly where I`ve been previously. In order to see the previous door too other area (so I can understand where I am exactly), I have to move around a bit, to the center, so it can show up. Felt so stupid again. (I hope what I say makes sense, sorry again for my basic English) EDIT: I realized that you can actually move the overlay map with the arrow keys, which helps a lot actually. The bad part is that I have to take my hand off the mouse, which makes it not very intuitive. // The crypts and dungeons, also a place where I`ve wondered around more times just too check if there is an exit - should have some way of saying This is it. You`ve discovered everything - you can go back to the surface! (like the obelisk in D3). To conclude, the game seemed interesting enough, love the slow pace (I know it becomes crazy), but if these points will be changed in next PoE game, I think will make a very good game. See you in November 2024 :D. Last edited by Wo0olfgaNg_#7323 on Jul 4, 2024, 6:33:41 AM Last bumped on Jul 10, 2024, 8:24:30 AM

lol for starters you're playing on ruthless so your experience is really not a good representation of how POE is like.
try playing the game again on standard and let us know how it feels if you havent uninstalled already. also, melee feels real bad in this game especially early on. i would admit that it requires more skill to use but overall feels real bad for most of the climb. i agree on the town portal issue. POE was developed coming from diablo 2 and the devs stubbornly chose to retain this "feature". in anycase thanks for your time writing this. melee bad lol [Removed by Support]

Wait until you meet exp penalty on death together with time-till-death design kicking in:)
Acts are actually the most balanced part of poe (in non-ruthless anyway). Endgame combat is really different, lol. |

Sorry OP, but your choice to start your PoE experience on ruthless is probably doing a lot to impact your opinion in the game overall. The mode is far detached from the rest of the game.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. |

On the Ruthless part, it was only mentioned that the items are more scares. Which I really like. When you find an item should be more meaningful.
If there is more to Ruthless than that.. well.. sad :). I`m not going back to the game. I`m sure the other points are still there (like TP, map navigation, long learning curve, etc). I`ll go back to watch some more POE2 news :) EXP penalty on death sounds interesting though. I actually like the idea of some penalty for deaths. |

By the way, is there a PVP in the game? I mean a real one that people actually play, not like in Diablo.

" if it seemed like he didnt give an answer, allow me to elaborate. we do have pvp in poe, but theres no rewards for participating in pvp so theres no reason to pvp. players can pvp for fun but even then due to poe's power scaling theres NO WAY to balance pvp in a meaningful manner. some players use aoes that hit entire screens for gazillion damage. some players play flicker strike which could focus on teleporting to the enemy instantly and insta gibbing them (high risk 1 hit nuke at melee range) some could build their characters to be insanely tanky that you barely scratch them and if you do scratch them, they most likely overheal any damage you dealt. tldr, there is pvp in poe but people dont really pvp. its there if you and someone else wants to pvp. else zero purpose at all.
