xD... C'mon man, not asked for. He is just obvously not certain if he should play Poe. First experience was not great and not his fault that it is not obvious that ruthless is not for beginners.

I want as many people to play Poe as possible. So we should try to help them if they need it and ask for it. Am I right? Then call off your statement and give him advice. xD

its real weird to see someone just be so condescending towards others. then again its poe forums.

Aah, this was addressed to me?? :)) lol

Of course Ruthelss is not explained correctly.

Plus, the things I`m complaining about are mostly related to standard game anyway. But you are too focused on meaningless things to write.

So try to be constructive and don`t post stupidities like these, my friend.
Its just another kind of game, friend, despite the same genere. You are just so accustomed to "Diablo way of life" and must learn how poe looks and works.

Set your eye on looking at TAB-minimap to navigate and locate unveiled map areas, as example.

And as others said, dont trigger all the difficulty switches ON, on first run.

Nope, I just played that casually. So cannot be accustomed with that.

Even if I were, I`m still able to be objective.

From the way he writes, he is on a high horse. He doesn't want help. He wants to state some weird ass thing.

I always welcome new players that really want to get in the game. I also have some pals that also started ruthless and came to me to ask for help and I explained what that is and now they're having fun.

Yeah, I must say that I kind of agree with this. I wanted to encourage him and give him advice as obviously playing ruthless is not the way to start game. In reality it is not like he didn't bring it on himself. I mean, that mode is called "RUTHLESS" and in its description are used words like "severe scarcity" - even if you don't visit website for more info this don't sound welcoming to newbies. Yet he felt like he has enough relevant experience to give feedback, but ok. But his later responses are pointing towards what you are saying. I also noticed it, just ignored it till now. xD

I think a lot of the problem is that people don't seem to realize how incredibly easy diablo three and diablo four were/are. So if that's their primary arpg experience, it follows that they're used to feeling capable of tackling an arpg at its highest possible difficulty out of the gate.

The state of "winning" is so ingrained in ARPG players minds that the mere possibility of "failure" becomes a numbing experience. It's a part of how more casual ARPGs teach their players, how difficulty floor and ceiling are designed and thus, what expectations new players will bring coming into PoE.

On the flipside, I started playing Rust just a few weeks ago. Went in only knowing a few basics from watching some content on YouTube that got me interested in the game, and then the brutal learning experience began. I didn't expect it to be easy, and so I experience much less frustration than someone coming from D4 jumping into Ruthless I'd reckon. It's a good kinda painful.

Plus, I know when to log off and try again the next day. :P

Tl;dr: Ruthless is a lot like Rust in that you start from nothing and experience setbacks constantly while trying to learn. Open mindset is required
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

Fellas, you guys are kinda deviating from the thread topic now. You`re stuck into this Ruthelss thing, which does not affect any of the five pain points I`ve raised.

I was just giving my feedback to GGG ppl. I did not ask for any help, nor try to find answers to get back into the game.

But if you really wanted to help though, you could have said, for example, that I might be wrong with the exploration part, since the overlay map can be actually moved with the arrows keys. Something which I found out later, in a random YT video. (I edited the post now)
Then again, you could do that only if you read my initial post.

Thanks for your replies, nevertheless.

We're "stuck into this ruthless thing" because Ruthless directly caused or significantly contributed to several of your pain points.

Point 1 - Combat is slow and clunky. This is because you don't have good items and you don't have access to support gems, which happened because you were playing Ruthless.

Point 2 - More refund points. The orb of regret is an extremely common currency drop which gives you respec points, and even as early as act 2/3 you should start seeing them drop unless you are playing in Ruthless.

Point 3 - Town portal scrolls CAN be assigned to a button, and they are extremely common drops unless you are playing in Ruthless.
