POE ( 1 ) Legacy items into POE2 ?
I'm fairly certain (but not 100%) that Steel designed the flask from Uber Sirus.
Apparently there was much back and forth on it and GGG took a long time to approve because they thought it was too OP. Steel basically said take it, or design your own, after CW put his foot down on the many Uniques that were in the pipeline. GGG relented. I suppose putting the flask as a rare drop in an Uber pinnacle fight is a good way to minimize an item you might think is "too good". Ooh, they made a reward out of the former pay-to-play item design game. Clever. And it only drops from certain monsters due to being OP. Familiar idea...
Well in that case, it's just as gimmicky as mine and has no place in PoE 2. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

" The Wiki agrees that Steemage designed that flask (Oriath's End). I wonder what the discussion was like regarding Progenesis, which was Ben's design (both designs were rewards for the same Boss Kill Event acc. to the Wiki). It turned out that Progenesis is arguably even more OP. |

" If memory serves, they gave those unique designs to the winners of some Boss Kill Events. The monsters they drop from were fixed beforehand, there was at least one for every Uber Boss. Basically first place gets to design a unique that drops from Uber Boss X, second place Uber Boss Y; you get the idea. So it wasn't like they decided to hide any OP payed designs away after the fact. They were "free" rewards and the drop locations were clear. The drop rates might have been adjusted though... |

" True, but the $1000 Diamond Closed Beta supporter pack pack also included the opportunity to design your own unique as a perk. Here's Ziggy's reddit post about it from OMFG 12 years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/16wbvy/183_diamond_supporter_packs_have_now_been/. They haven't done it since, and a lot of fairly iconic unique items were designed in collaboration with player-supporters, so I don't think it was a bad idea, but they haven't shown any signs of wanting to do it again and I think that's a good call. Remember, remember the 6th of December...

" It made them a lot of money out of the gate -- they very much needed it -- but it was also drastically underpriced for the amount of work that went into it. That's why GGG created much stricter limitations for the other major player-'created' content, the divination cards. 1k USD to create an item from scratch, a whole bunch of very diverse people working with the devs directly, vs 800USD to fill in a carefully made form. Not exactly difficult to see GGG learned their lesson there. I'm glad they found a way to bring player-item design back and kept it a prize for excellence in PoE gameplay rather than simply 'oh, you happen to be rich, sure we'll put your silly ideas into our game'. PoE was always at its best when it gave cosmetic and 'non-gameplay related' rewards to excellent players, and Steelmage has certainly been that long before he was a streamer. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

" there also was this crazy guy who threw a lot of cash to not only design 1 unique but 3weapons! and the weapon even is voiced! such madness! [Removed by Support]

yeah, I heard he's a bit of an egotistical bastard but eh, money walks and Bitchfacesword talks.
All jokes aside, I am very glad that GGG are in a position now where they aren't resorting to player-influenced content to make their game. Some of the stories I've heard about player proposed items that had to be rejected would blow your mind. I am, all ego aside, a pretty reasonable guy for what most would consider a high-end customer. GGG got kind of lucky there, because I'd hate to be in a position where someone has 'invested' a chunk of change into my game in exchange for custom content turns out to be an intractable jerk. OTOH maybe that's how they saw me. hard to say when you put that much money in...not the point, thankfully. The point is there SHOULD be legacy PoE 1 items in PoE 2, but they should be meaningful and rewarding both. They should add to the world, not distract from it. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

" lol hes fine in my books anyway, the original poster worded it in a way which led me to interpret his desire was to have his standard items be ported over to poe2. the thing you mentioned is different. i think its very likely that poe1 items would return in poe2 but in a different form. i bet its to the benefit of GGG too. coming up with original names for uniques after already using over a hundred names can be taxing. tho i hope the ones that get brought over are truly iconic. we do know that tabula rasa is in poe 2. they could also rename the old items into newer versions the same way they did with prophesy-upgraded uniques. could even downgrade them as a tongue in cheek reference too. Shaffron Wrappings comes to mind. [Removed by Support]

Oh man I hated that item and I still do. For so many reasons.
But yeah, the OP's request is impossible but understandable due to outdated information regarding what PoE 2 is. Signing off then! https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
