PoE2: One death in map and its bricked.

It is always the same with GGG. They think they are really smart and come up with "great" ideas to make the 6 portal discussion from poe1 obsolete. You just need to make the mechanic worse and ppl will shut up and wish back the 6 portal thing from poe1. This way you "improved" poe2, which was an intended worsening as countermeasure against players, who whish more comfortable changes to the portal system and you stop the whole whining in poe1, because ppl are affraid, that it might change to the worse poe2 system.

The game with carrots and sticks....... unbelievable
I think it might be fine.

Until we get our hands on it and try it out I'm not going be doom and gloom about it. Part of gaming is challenges and overcoming them.
If you play in a group (softcore) and someone dies, the map is bricked?

As far as I know there is a rez feature where you stand over someone for like 6+ seconds to revive them, so not combat viable but it would let you keep going otherwise.
Edit: so Unless you all go down.

Allright thanks. Make sense ;)
the amount of glazing here im gonna need new shorts.

honestly , selling EA after taunting the release for over half a decade is pretty on par for 2024 (so much for respecting our time)

. I swear I remember a podcast of johnathan talking about veteran players getting free keys for poe2, now its , $480 is a "veteran" most of those kids buying those 480$ packs are buying carries from players like me in 820. Why are hours invested irrelevant to you? I can assure you 1900 hours is alot more than $480.

Changing portal system for what? wheres the updates that are actually good for the game, like possibly guild questing? Guild pvp? any sort of team environment instead of this weird loner droner syndrome of a game where everyone plays solo.

Red map balance is probably still way off where it needs to be just to sustain the game early on and make it appear tough and full of content (remember diablo 3) but its likely just going to have insane requirements with zero ability to get life on the tree, players are in for a wild ride , for sure.

The list of wtf is quite large, where is shadow and why have you replaced him with a metro-sexual renaissance fart cannon man that I bet less than 2% of people even try on release?

you have so many other issues porting over from the old game its going to be hilarious when players find all these random niche rollback instances and start duping gold and runes from all of the chaos thats about to take place due to a LONG arpg drought and every nerd being home for the holidays, Server load + largely untested ARPG = Someones day 1 duping guaranteed (and they never find all the duped goods these people have bots that will shuffle the loot like mad, remember just as you are eager to play, the bandits are eager to farm the un-indoctrined's wallets.)

Well placed carrot. Honestly im sad but not surprised.

so glad that this change will prevent the best builds from being '6 portal defense' builds.

any naysayers seem to forget that in order to pass the campaign u have to kill each boss without dying to progress. its a different game, embrace it for now.
This is the best thing they could have done and if they walk back on it I'll delete my account
Way better like this. I hate the meta of dropping portals during risky content so I don't have to run all the way back. This will force players to only run content they can manage, which is how the game should have been.
Am also worried this will make learning boss mechanics harder. We will have to, I guess, rely on youtube videos to learn mechanics instead of using our 6 portals to do so.
