POE2 Character Names?
Agreed, they should just do it like diablo where you have a unique #1234 number at the end and let people repeat names. It's stupid.

I'm seriously about to uninstall the game, unless I'd like to name my character "sasdjkfhdkljfhsdkjfh"; which seems to be one of the only names not taken. Sigh.

It's not like this is an MMORPG where there's hundreds of people playing on the same map all the time. Most of the time we play alone, and the game promotes "Solo Self Found"; why does this have to be an issue?

Just to add another voice to the request, I really hope full release allows us to just have actual names without me having to spend 30 minutes trying to find a new way to spell the name I'd like, or just devolve into adding random numbers to the end of the name.

Dropping by to say that I've been stuck in POE 2's character creation menu for 57 minutes & counting because not a single one of the 50+ names I've attempted to punch in were available.
I'm at the point of resorting to dropping the people's elbow on my keyboard & keeping w/e shows up as my character name...although I wouldn't be surprised if that ends being unavailable as well. Just let us use alt codes in our names & be done with this ignorant shit. |

I especially like that many names are restricted for absolutely stupid reasons or no apparent reason at all. Like "Knight" not being usable because some stupid filter list made by insane people has 3 of those characters in it. Also wanted to name a Monk "Chonkong", which is also restricted. "Chonk" and "honkong" both are not restricted. Can't even figure out why the added "C" makes it restricted, google doesn't know anything about that. So again blocked because it's on a list made by insane people. Or some skills also not being usable as names because they contain evil forbidden character sequences.
It's especially stupid because it's so easy to circumvent. It's like Dark Souls censoring its own NPC names but players can appear with the wildest names :D |
