Can definitely reccomend the poe uncrasher haven't had a freeze in a few weeks now but the game will still try to hang on occasion, but some gaming sessions i'll check the log and no freezes had occured so bizarre it seems random.

Hello. I have also suffered from PC freezing but now it seems that it does not happen to me anymore.
I have Windows 11 24H2 with 16GB RAM and an RTX 3060Ti and the problem comes from the use of the CPU cores. Before I had all the cores unparked but now I have returned to the default values of Windows (They are 0%) using Unpark-CPU.

You only run it once and set it to 0%. Restart the PC and you never run it again. I also configured in BIOS, to turn the cores on or off as needed.

When you are playing, the game is not using all cores with this method, it does not freeze since it has at least 2 free cores or more to run other processes.

PD: I use Vulkan renderer. I have not test with DirectX12.

Happy new year bump
I have crashes too after updating to 24H2 I In Graphics->Display Settings I switched Mode from "Fullscreen" to "Windowed Fullscreen" the game still hang but I could kill it from the task manager. After That I try numerous graphical settings and unchecking "Background FPS Cap" stopped the issue completely.
So set the Mode to "Windowed Fullscreen" and uncheck "Background FPS Cap".
Hope it will work for you too guys.
I was seeing this on a 7950x3d and also on a 9800x3d, setting affinity would sometimes resolve the issue, which makes me think that does not actually resolve anything.

What DID resolve it for me was setting the process priority to real time for PathOfExileSteam.exe. I also remove its affinity for CPU 0 and CPU 1 just in case so I don't have to reset my PC.

When using the 7950x3d I had the game pinned to CCD0 (3dvcache cores), and was often able to unlock the process by allowing the game to also use CCD1 (non-3dvcache cores) temporarily.

Given this, it seems like a multiprocessing/threading application issue to me. Maybe a race condition?

Hi everyone, whilst we have already been investigating this issue already, it would be massively helpful if you could provide your dxdiag output by doing the following on windows:

run > dxdiag > save all information

and sending me that file or it's contents in a private message.

Thanks!

LOL almost 3 weeks gone by no fix yet SO much for playing poe2

He's gonna come back from holidays and be inundated with PM's with these files from everyone.

That's my working theory for now. Aslo explains why trottling cpu did help a lot of ppl.
Posting on here to add to the thread

9800x3d user, windows is completely up to date. I also see a 100% usage right when it's about to crash and it has only been while loading into a new area or my last one was when I finished Act 2 and the cutscene started playing.

I've tried everything with the core reduction and whatnot but it still completely womps the CPU and hard crashes everything.

Switched back to my 12700k build and I do not have the problem. Heck I don't have the problem on my steamdeck so it seems the be only affecting AM5 cpus mainly?

Will be trying the uncrasher and see what happens
I gave up, no point on trying to play a game that crashes all the time. Gonna uninstal this and maybe, will try it again after a year or two...
