POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
" This is an amusing post. In my opinion its very obvious you're talking about matters you do not fully understand. By next generation Windows lockers are you implying ransomware? Are you then further implying this ransomware can be deployed by taking advantage of this game crash? Firstly ransomware encrypts the disk. It does not freeze the system. Secondly if the payload freezes the system it would be very simple to fix it and would be very ineffective for criminal activity. I couldn't resist replying. Some of the posts on this thread are extremely amusing. Anyway... I'm getting the same issue as well. I'm on the latest version of Windows 11 (24H2). 5800X3D CPU and 4070ti GPU. When I played the game on release I had no issues. The problems started after I updated to 24H2. It could be a coincidence that the problems started after updating to 24H2. However I played for multiple days without any issues before updating. I've read several posts that other users are getting crashes on versions prior to 24H2 and even on Windows 10 / Linux. Hopefully the POE dev's will fix it soon (if its within their power). I do suspect 24H2 is causing it some how and other users may be getting crashes that are seperate issues to this one and everything is getting conflated causing confusion. " I'm talking about the ability to freeze the system by passing to the OS/API something it can't handle properly. From isolated environment without elevated privileges. As for data encryption, it's another question. But I emphasize the fact that some arbitrary application can freeze the entire PC simply because it is technically possible, even if it does not have access to ring 0 or admin rights. If you say it's easy fixable, okay, I'm waiting for the fix for my Linux and Windows OS. Keep in mind this bug existed for years and nobody fixed it. " I think you're obviously a tech enthusiast and that is great. The technical terminology you're using is correct in spelling and sounds good. However the manner in which you've used it makes you look bad because the context makes no sense. When I said its easily fixable I was not referring to the game crash. I was referring to the scenario were you said a criminal could demand $1000 or keep crashing the system via shaders. Its rather ridiculous but very amusing. I look forward to hearing more of your technical analysis. |

So, after 1 day of normal gameplay as soon I got on act2 the game started to freezes.
NOW I can´t even open it with out freezing my whole computer. I mean I bought this setup like 3 days ago, is not like I´m on a potato masher. I know is EA and all, but I´m kinda flabbergasted that this kinda of problem that is really common as it seems has 0 response or perspective to be corrected. |

It would happen rarely before last fixes. Now I can't even load into character selection menu because PC becomes completely unresponsive.

After 100 hours of gameplay, my PC shuts down out of nowhere, only when I'm playing POE 2, I don't know what else can be done to fix this. I use Windows version 24H2, Intel 14600k, RTX 3080, 32GB DDR5. In other games everything is perfect! Is anyone else having this problem too?

Yep. Sill happening to thousands of users. Happens to me in both Windows 24H2 and Linux (game crashes on loading menus the same, but at least does not freeze the entire system). I've given up playing until this gets addressed. Over a month and not even a peep from GGG on a potential fix. Very strange.

Just to add to this yet again, on both my PC`s this is happening, both are on 23H2.
I can prevent the crashes via setting affinity and removing 2 CPU cores fro being active but this is NOT a fix this is users just trying to limit the potential. Its pathetic GGG have not addressed this properly yet. |
