IT WORKS! Getting 120-ish FPS right now. But as I understand it doesn't help against CTDs or freezes but at least it doesn't lock up my pc. If the game works fine inside my virtual machine, why can't it work on my PC? Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining because after your suggestion it is a fresh breeze, I can forget about power button.

The most extreme thing I’ve done so far is setting up a Docker container with Linux, loading SteamOS onto it, and running the game on Linux. Surprisingly, that worked, but playing it from the container introduces some lag.

consumers shouldn't be forced to do insane diagnostics and workarounds to make a product work. Imagine some kid asking for this game for Christmas, so his parents give him the money to buy it on Steam. It doesn't work, the kid can't figure it out, the parents can't figure it out, Steam won't give a refund, computer takes some kind of damage, parents have to jump through hoops to hope the CC company refunds the charge. You have zero perspective or empathy. Your bizarre defense of GGG for allowing this continue to be an issue is just sad.

I am not GGG's official and can suggest anything I want without your permission. Period. If you don't like it - don't use it. Enjoy the freezes of your PC. I already posted what you can do as an average user and it doesn't include constantly whining and yelling. The noise doesn't help. Do you want to help? Do something in the right direction.
The latest release of PoEUncrasher which now parks 4 cores instead of 2 has helped me play the game since the newest update. Without it, I can't even get past the initial loading screen before I need to restart my PC with a hard crash

Whats next? 6 cores, or two 3rd party software to run Poe2?
Completely wrong direction to support the game.

400 + pages, two threads with issues. I love the concept and the game but cant support this. If it just crashes becuase it crashes ok, but the whole OS?
People blaming routing, windows, drivers.. no mate. It's the fucking game.

Okay, I'm done. Everything was fine until the latest patch. After the update, I started getting random freezes in the game. I can enter menus, open character info, and all the UI stuff, but the character and environment are frozen.
I cannot tell what triggers it. Sometimes, it happens in the city, and sometimes, it happens outside. I'm running the game on a Ryzen 7 5800X with AMD Radeon RX 6600XT.
It happens so often that I cannot complete a single area. The game was enjoyable to play but it's no longer usable.

Try enabling the latency meter by pressing F1 when the freezes start occuring, it could be a simple routing issue and the solution is to just pause the game and wait a minute.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried doing that and it grows, but the game remains frozen despite the 400 000 ms on the counter.
SOO much 3rd party things got to do for this game.... First DL a loot filter, second use a trade macro to check prices ect. Third go in browser to buy things from people. Fourth, DL a CPU program to limit your CPU atm. Download path of building if you want to max your build. Just sooo many things that GGG makes convenience.
I have 150 hours in this game and with the latest patch this is boarder line unplayable. I have a Ryzen 7800X3D and a 4070 super. The game randomly crashes on the loading screen and completely locks up my computer. I have to hold the power button to even shut it down. It's always at the loading screen. Every time I see the gears stop spinning, I start to panic.

Is this being addressed at all? Im not going to run any software that others have suggested, thats crazy. The game was working until the last patch. Can we fix this?
Still waiting for a patch. The game is totally unplayable especially for end game when I lose my maps because I can't even enter the instance. Have they fixed the issue? It's been almost 2 months now. Please update if this can even be fixed so if it can't I just uninstall the game and request a refund since I paid to be a beta tester. Sorry just super frustrated with this whole thing as most of my friends left me behind in the grind.
Since the last patch, even with Multithreading turned off and all graphics low, i crash to desktop on 80% of the time with loading screens. When that happens, i open the game again, get through gear screen, and crash to desk top again. Seems to be a double crash. Crash in Game, Crash reloading game. Open game again and can get into Hideout.

After this cycle i can get back in, maybe join the map, or crash on load screen again then crash again on re-open of the game, rinse and repeat. Some times i can play 4 - 5 maps no issue, some times i can't get through a map before i run out of portals with the crashing.

Lost a citadel because of this. @GGG are we going to get at least some form of an update or acknowledgement to this? Maybe a timeframe for a solution?

It doesn't seem like everyone is having the same issue where some are just straight crashing to desktop like me, some are freezing and locking the entire computer forcing a hard restart, some are FPS issues. Any tips or ways we can play your game without constantly running into issues would be helpful.

I have zero issues with other games on the same computer, so its not a CPU issue, or a GPU issue.

Running I9 14900KF with a RTX4090 with 64GB ram. Windows 11 23H2.
My game freezes in the loading screen whenever my character tries to enter the Trials of Sekhemas (normal Act 2). My character reached core difficulty Act 2 and i think killing the Betrayer for the second time kinda screwed the game up. Anyone knows how to fix this?

I had this issue every since I did a fresh install around the 6th of this month. Was freezing during loading screens. I was able to get the game to crash instead of freezing by changing 2 of my cores affinities off the game.

After research I decided to find an older version of windows 11 ISO install that was 23H2, I was currently running 24H2, and from launch until the 6th of January I had been using 23H2 with no issues so I decided to roll back to that with fresh install and try it out.

After about 7 days now I have been running the game with all max GPU settings, on Windows 11 23H2 , DirectX 12 and while using 2nd monitor to watch youtube, Netflix etc... And have had zero issues. No crashes, no latency issues, no freezing.

I know some people are reporting similar freezes on different OS's and what not but I can only report that for me personally this 100% fixed the issue. I hope this will help GGG ascertain the problem.

I am running 4070 TI with AMD Ryzen 5600X CPU, M2 4GB drive, 32GB system Ram.
