POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

Post patch I just ran 4x T15 maps and a level 80 trial... no freeze crashes when portaling.

I'm optimistic yet remain skeptical that it is a permanent fix but fingers crossed!

is anyone else having the issue of when you open your POE 2, the monitor starts to black screen on random scenarios for 2 seconds or so? ex. fullscreening a yt video blacks out my monitor for 2 seconds like its trying to change resolution or something, when tabbing out it black screens for 2 seconds etc, any fixes? am i the only one? lol

Sounds like your graphics drivers are crashing.

i have the most recent graphics drivers so i dont understand why this would be happening? any advice as to what i should/could do? thanks brother
day 68 not being able to play poe2

Fixed several client and instance crashes. This includes a potential fix for the crash affecting players on Windows 24H2.

Words matter here. From this statement, it would seem the crash issue wasn't some specific issue, but a collection of issues contributing to the overall crashing. This would be why "fixes" would work for some, but not others and vice versa.

My take? It's progress, and a full admission that they're aware of the issue and actively working to solve it. That makes sense. This is their source of revenue. No competent company, and I see GGG as one, would make a game just to make some initial cash (while opening themselves up to possible litigation i.e. Cyberpunk 2077) and just run away.

So, no promises THIS patch will take care of everyone, but if it helps some of the players, then it's progress and hope for more players. Keep making your voices heard to help get the game you really do want.

Oh, and the character rename? Chef's kiss! Saved me countless hours of picking the wrong ascendancy for that character's name (yes, I'm picky about the name matching the ascendancy). I was tempted to redo dozens of levels on a character just because the wrong name for it would just make my eye twitch thinking about it. Works flawlessly with zero hassle.

Reminder to use the "--ex-crash-report" to send crash report data to GGG whenever you crash.

For Steam:

Goto Library->Path of Exile 2 properties by right-clicking the icon->General->Launch Option-> Add --ex-crash-report
to the box.

For Standalone client:

Right the desktop shortcut->Properties->In the target field add --ex-crash-report

And the target should look like this: "C:\Program Files\Path of Exile 2\Client.exe" --ex-crash-report
I still gotta play it for some time to be sure, but seems like it fixed for me. Played it for a couple hours without even a normal crash, nevermind a total OS freeze.

Using AMD CPU, Nvidia GPU, Windows 11 with all updates.

Stop defending GGG on this matter. its absurd.

Oh the pain, so they communicate that they have a potential fix and your annoyed that they havent released it immediately, prior you were annoyed at their 0 communication policy, like I said literally cannot win. They have clearly been working on the issue as they've been updating the patch notes and known bugs list literally every patch, are you really that insane in the mind that you require game devs of hundreds of thousands of people to keep checking in with you and letting you know that they are working on an issue they update us on periodically? Thats funny actually

The game isnt completely broken though is it, a portion of the player base are unable to play without it hard crashing their system but the rest are able to play again back to point one, you are insane in the mind to expect game devs of literally hundreds of thousands of people to keep checking in with you and letting you know that you are working on an issue they update us on periodically.

Back to point 1, they literally cannot win, announce new information for you "I DEMAND IT NOW"..... Give you no information whilst working in the background "WE DEMAND INFORMATION NOW".

Feel free to go back through the thread and see the amount of people who have tried poeuncrasher and affinity settings and you guessed it, multithreading and they are still crashing. Entitlement at its finest, game devs ignore everything else and fix my problem because I am the most important. I am not defending GGG at all, you can see my previous posts, when people start acting stupid and start throwing their toys out the pram instead of understanding how complex an issue is then yea sure, I'll tell that person. Now remember their are hundreds of thousands of players with different systems that are all going to be impacted by this patch and your response is rush it out or dont mention it so you can complain either way HAHAHAHAHA, am done

Nyek, dude you're right but they won't listen to you. QQ'ing and yelling at GGG is what they can do. They even can't read more than one page from the topic start suggesting not working methods everyday. Toxic behaviour is one of the reason why GGG gives limited amount of information because it is always lose-lose for them.

Played an hour without any hard freezing on loading screens. Thank you GGG!
So far so good for me.
the client still crashes a lot of times during the loading screen (after pressing "play" from the character selection screen).
