Continuous Stuttering/Lag Despite Stable FPS and Internet in PoE 2 Early Access
Nothing helpful to contribute other than I'm here because of the same issue. Nothing else I play has this issue and I'm using nothing but the very top end hardware and commercial networking equipment. The mild stutter roughly every second and the occasional awful spikes is driving me batty and infrequently getting me killed. Traceroutes show nothing unusual, in game monitoring shows the network bouncing between WILD numbers though. Nothing I have tinkered with in the game options seems to make any difference, but that's pretty much what I expected with a 9950x, 4090, and 192GB of RAM. I've tried all the US servers with no difference and this has been happening for several days, even though friends of mine have no issues. I am VERY confused as to what might be causing the hitching.

Bump.
Exact same problem here. Gateway latency is around 40ms. FPS is at a steady 60fps. I have done several things such as closing all other apps that might be using the internet from my computer. I am using the Steam POE2 client. Wondering if that may be the issue here. |

Out of curiosity, what class are people with this issue having? I'm running a witch. In my testing this gets worse when a party member joins the instance, and MUCH worse when I have minions out then when I don't. Thinking back, the absolute worst times are when I have a whole lot of zombies out plus my usual party. I was leaning towards peer networking issues a few minutes ago, but now with the obvious results around when I do and don't have minions out I'm thinking it may be something to do with how the servers and I are trading data. Can anyone else running a witch test this? Number of particles/enemies doesn't seem to have any impact at all btw.

Same issue here, high end PC (13900K, 4090, 96GB RAM) with 15ms ping on the California server. But the stuttering is so bad at night (8PM PST) it's unplayable. I'm playing a monk. Platform is EPIC games.
Interestingly enough, I usually don't get stuttering if I play during the day (10AM to 4PM PST). Last edited by Cocosoy#4794 on Dec 11, 2024, 12:41:53 AM

I'm having a different issue altogether. Enemies spawn in with these weird black lines on them and it persists. They're not already on the map but just start spawning out of thin air and it's mildly annoying. Anyone have this issue?

" For what it's worth, I've experienced this when running the EGS POE2 client. I've played in identical instances with my partner who's using the Steam POE2 client. Only I have these lag spikes, he does not, and we're playing less than a meter away from each other on identical connections to wireless on matched laptops. Also observed this on my desktop, same fluctuating ping. Happens with or without triple buffering, with 5GHz or 2.4GHz network. Tried one of the previous recommended solutions of joining global/trade channels 999, disabling both, and nixing Client.txt in /logs. Almost thought it had worked but then got the most sustained 150-200ms ping to date just after I had the thought of "Hey, maybe this did work!". Brought every visual setting down to the absolute minimum as well. This, too, has no impact. I'll science more in the morning but if it's impacting the Steam client, it may not be the fault of the platform I was gifted the code on (not that I could see how that would be; it's all the same servers regardless). |

Same issue here, but with a caveat. I'm playing at various hours in a day, and the problem seems uniformly worse in the evening (Singapore realm).
Stable everything. Other games (including MOBA) work fine, so it's not a hardware or home network issue. Some server-side component is clearly the choke point. |

The same problem. Nothing help me.

Same issue, the game is basically unplayable due to so many spikes.

Add me to the list. Now totally unplayable.
