Witch Minions, totally unplayable
This combo of gas explosions is next to be nerfed.

Lmao, hard disagree. My minions slap into late act 1 and end of act 2. 4 skele warriors, 2 archers, 1 hellhound. Energy shield aura on them, attacks proc burning and poison, go into skill tree that increases damage based on afflictions / ailments = easy everything.

My summoner witch is level 16. Maybe I'm not high enough yet, but I haven't experienced all these difficulties yet. People have been telling me I won't kill x boss when I get there, but so far this has not turned out to be true.
Sure, it's not as fast as other builds but it does the job regardless. I'm using warriors, skeleton archer, Arsonist, Contagion/Essence Drain, Unearth and Grim Feast so far. A little patience is all that's needed. This game has been slowed down and is more tactical. It's not a speed fest like og POE. Sounds like skill and support gem issues to me. Adapt or find something else. POE 2 is miles better than og POE. ~Hear 'em Howl~

hey GGG can you hire somebody that actually enjoys and likes to play minion builds. the entire poe2 minion garbage needs complete redoing by somebody that doesnt hate summoner/minion builds.

This thread really confuses me, are you guys playing a different game or something? Minions are way too strong to the point I don't even feel like I'm having to play the game anymore. On my warrior I felt like I had to at least learn what the enemies do. With my witch all the enemies could be replaced with target dummies and I wouldn't even notice. I just melt through the maps and only die on bosses because I haven't learned what attacks can one shot me yet. Honestly, most of these replies make zero sense to me.

Minions are like paper. I made it almost to the end of act 1 and never stopped questioning whether I am doing something wrong. Yeah, SRS helps since they actually do some dmg, but it seems weird to cast fire spell to summon them. I don't actually remember feeling like my minions did anything substantial. Most of the time I am standing there casting spells to do chip damage. What are my minions doing? I don't know. Guess they are just dying.

I feel like yall are playing it wrong, I use bone blast and unearth to pin enemies while my mobs tank and do damage. Having to dodge roll through an enemy or two isn't a big deal. I also do bleed damage and its like I have a physical damage caster.

I've been playing witch and minions from the start. Didn't have a single issue. Started with unearth and skelly. Tried out a bunch of different combos. Once I could get a few snipers I realized ignited gas arrow one shots every white mob and some blue mobs and yellows take 3 to 6 gas arrows.
Bosses get chunked on average 5% or more of life with gas Arrow explosion. So with some revive time you basically always have minions out and make sure you're using gas arrow and have a method to ignite it when it's available. If you happen to get a screenwide minions killed then it's only like 3 seconds til they're back. And all of the gas arrows are back. Make sure to get resists and I scaled ES with witch. It's recovery starts after about 1.5 seconds and recovers around 20% per second. I also oversized with the skill so maxed out I currently have 3500 es before level 50. Back in my 20s it was close to 1k. |
