POE 2 - Life Leech Rune not Working

(I'm playing with Chayula Monk) With lower level mobs the leech works, it's not as good as should be tho.

Something is bugged in the leech resistance from the mobs, in the later acts the resitance is so big that seens to be less than 1 ES/Mana leeched per hit.

same issue with the life leech from physical rune.
I can't see any leech despite being on a pure physical warrior build

Also playing an Acolyte of Chayula Monk specced into Consuming Questions. Currently in Act 4 with ~9% effective mana leech dealing 568-984 physical damage with basic attacks. I leech anywhere from 1-4 ES per hit.

IDK if leech resistance is bugged or just way overtuned, but this for sure needs to be addressed considering I don't really see any accessible way to overcome it. Pretty much bricks my ascendancy.

Wasted a bunch of gold re-specing since Consuming Questions effectively nerfs your character since the recharge is so much better than even a free 100% mana steal would provide in the current state.

Acolyte here, just wanted to add my 2 cents, did a respec around lv 56, after rounding up all the numbers i have around 22% mana leech and deal around 1k physical dmg on hit.

Of course there are other variables but even with armour brake i leech around 20 ES per hit :]

Drown basically all my orbs for gear and gold for respec, idk honestly if ill continue to play, least i can do is warn others before they go that route.

Good to know im not crazy, playing as blood mage ED\Contagion\Hexblast, vitality siphon from ascendancy doesnt work with any of this spells.

life leech on weapon shows 5% of physical damage. Has previously worked and when i add the vitality support gem to my herald of ice, my life leech no longer works. Also, it would be nice to see amount of life leech, mana leech, life on hit, and mana on hit under your character description. Also a full read out of the different types of damage your dealing and how much of each

Have a body rune on a crossbow, and cannot see any leech proccing on hit

guys its dependent on you recovery per second on health or mana that you can find on your character page. no mater how high you get any leech it wont go past that number and you can increase that number with regen rate. I tested it, you can go test it then come back and confirm.

Wish I'd seen this post earlier. PSA: don't take Consuming Questions. It completely bricks your build.

Leech resistance on enemies is just WAY too high. Spent 50k gold respeccing into energy shield leech on Chayula Monk, went into zone in Act 4 to test and received absolutely 0 leech, making the build completely unsustainable. Tested many different setups, but nothing changed this. I went all the way back to Act 1 and tested in the Clearfell Encampment. In that test, I rounded up a huge pack and let them hit me so I could measure leech. I killed the whole pack in 1 hit and regained... 8 total energy shield. Eight. I used whirling assault with no elemental damage, so it was all physical, and still only gained 8 energy shield. Leech technically works, it is just so unbelievably bad that it is completely useless.
