poe 2 candlemass boss doesnt drop essence in cruel

so ive killed candlemass boss like a dozen times and no essence dropped like in act1. boss map icon is also not grayed out. bugged? thoughts?

yeah boss seems bugged, no quest reward in cruel and boss icon on map doesn´t grey out after defeating him multiple times

I got an item that added 8% of something, trying to figure out what it was.

Same here. Act 1 Cruel, killed it 4 times now still no drop.
