poe 2 candlemass boss doesnt drop essence in cruel

Also happend to me, killed 4 times no item in cruel

Same here. Killed him 3 times, didn't get the drop. Watched a friend kill him once and he got the drop.

same here - 2 times killed

I killed Candlemass on cruel and he dropped the 8% hp buff, while I was in party.
Great, I didn't check hp before, I used it, but I don't know if buff applied or not, because later I checked map and icon is NOT greyed out.
I repeated the kill, nothing changed, icon still as I didn't kill the boss.

Is there a way to check all your permanent buffs?

Yeah, +1 for this bug. Been in Act 3 Cruel for a few mins, and had to check that i had all sidequests completed in the other acts. Seen that Candlemass was not completed so i got back to it. Killed it 3 times but doesn't drop any quest items and still shows as not completed... welp...
