IMO, this one is best used with the Unique Gloves all dmg poisons, along with the unique Helmet : crits have 100% chance to poison. That way, one can use a Fire skill for example, and, as long as they crit, theyre applying Chaos poison dmg, without using a Chaos Skill.

the main reason I'm taking chaos damage is due to chaos infusion's stupid drawback of doing 50% less non-chaos damage. what would you slot instead on gas arrow? currently I'm running CI, Deadly Poison and Scattershot.

but dualstring bow stacks poison faster due to additional projectile

Oh yeah thats a bait afaik, until we have bow prefix with flat chaos dmg, or maybe a future unique bow.

There are a few options, Comorbidity (+1 poison, x2 given pathfinder) seems like the clear choice instead of Chaos Infusion. Otherwise,Concentrated effect or inc AOE.

Bursting Plague is a possibility for more AOE clear but its really not necessary. Could also add Execute, around 15% more dmg, if youre using Contagion.

However, I keep hearing that we should NOT be exploding Gas Arrow clouds with Corrosion/Armor Explosion supports...

Can someone explain to me why not? It feels like more bursty dps when mobs just drop because of the explosion. Why would we not do that?

Alternatively, what supports are you using for your Gas Arrow and what supports are you using for Vine Arrow and Toxic Growth and why?

Just hit 86 on my poison PF. Was able to grab my 4th ascendancy earlier with pretty much great ease. It's got great aoe clear, great boss dmg, I am however open to dying incredibly fast despite 83% evasion and 75/75/75/75 res @ 2.1k hp.

I think I'm up to 8 jewel slots with 15% poison magnitude in each with off-stats of varying utility..some evasion, a couple proj dmg. I didn't like using the plaguefinder gloves as it was too much of a defensive hit and quite frankly I dropped nearly all ele dmg nodes and supports that would benefit it for now.

I'm probably wasting about 7-8 points as my gear set up required both str and int to keep me res capped, so I worked my way to polymath. I'll have to farm a ton of currency to switch out pieces as my helm and chest are both massive sources of HP and Resists but are the two slots that are eating the extra str/int.

All in all though, I'm loving it. The added mobility from getting my last ascendancy feels superb. I may switch it out if I tweak my shit and try more flask nodes, but yeeee one thing at a time.

I'll be going CI once I get 4th ascendancy and get to like Lvl 86-87. I feel like chaos damage is becoming a massive issue in high tier maps and it's very difficult to get pieces of gear that have high life, elemental and chaos res.

I also think Original Sin will be the play in the longer perspective. That way we can get a ton of flat elemental damage on bow, quiver and rings to scale poison, take chaos damage nodes on the tree and free up gloves slot for ES/evasion base for even more defence. CI will counter Original Sin's downside. Additionaly I plan on taking the Enduring Elixirs ascendancy and Eternal Youth. There are some evasion + ES wheels near monk starting area, so I'll path there instead of taking evasion nodes near ranger area. It all soudns good in my head but I'll have to see what it's like in game.

Glad you are having fun. Can you share your build?

What gem skills and supports are you using?
what is CI? Original sin as in the ring? I assume by chaos res zero they mean mobs and not yours?
