[PoE 2] Game crashes when trying to login with a specific character

I have the same problem and nothing helps so far.

This has happened to me twice now on my sorceress. Once in Clearfell encampment act one and Halani Gates cruel.

I have a 92 warrior, I did a trial then went back to my hideout. Game crashed and now when I try to log in I crash at loading screen. Other characters log in just fine.

I’m on console and this was happening to me. I went to the graphics settings in game and changed the max render resolution to 50% and changed the refresh rate to 60hz. Worked straight away after that. Good luck :)

Same here. 2 characters in a row on the new expansion at level 15

Was able to recover both my characters by verifying the integrity of my game files via the steam tool. That found "807 files failed to validate and will be reacquired" - I cleared my shader cache, restarted the steam client after the files had been reacquired, rebooted my pc, and was able to log in.

Another victim of this bug here. Every time I try to load my character now, the game will crash.
I've tried a few things, including using Steam's file integrity tool, uninstalling and reinstalling, changing renderer... nothing

Same problem, I had several characters that were causing crashes. Searched and found a fix that worked for me:

1. Went to appdata folder and deleted shader cache (Vulkan for me).
2. Changed Nvidia shader cache size to 100gig (right click desktop, then look in 3D settings)
3. Uncheched engine multithreading in POE2 graphics setting (Game ran like crap so I changed it back in game).

verify game file on steam fixed it for me. somehow 31 files were missing
