Warrior Feels horrible.
So here's a summary
Warrior start feels bad (if you dont use boneshatter) use it - feels better Monsters scale - gear does not keep up (massive bottle neck) gold respec to punishing cant adjust build. And no gear so yeah hard stuck. As all attacks are delayed and conditionary their you are bricked. ---- Love the game - hate the warrior and progression of this character Last bumped on Jan 19, 2025, 9:19:36 AM

The only class I'm playing and I'm with you. It MIGHT be because Mace/Hammers are so slow, but I'm with you.

I'm having fun with it but that's because it's literally a playstyle i LOVE in other games. Im speccing full into slow atk spd, full stun and +dmg to stunned monsters so im literally just slamming twice, first to stun and then to kill everything with one empowered slam.
But that's the thing, it's my playstyle, so i'm having fun, but there's like no other way to properly build him at the moment imo. So if you hate being slow, Warrior does feel really bad to play. Also who thought the honour system was a good idea? everything Warrior has close by in the passive tree goes to tank damage, so i'll never die, but honour makes me lose the trial. W h y. |

I highly agree with this post. I only finish the campaign and a bit of endgame of poe1. I was so exited to play a Warrior slam god or something stunning everything before the game come out. I got to the end boss of act I. I give up the slams following the recommended gems don't kill a skeleton or normal enemy. Stunning didn't do much as I only get one rolling slam that did no damage on the stunned time.
I restarted the game with ranger as I like the bow hero type too, its like I am playing a different game so much easier. I am at act 2 it gets a bit harder but at least with the ranger you get a bit of the power fantasy. I seen videos of people playing Warrior build later on that you a bit stronger but the first Act is it not fun. |

" Yup basically this. Really wanted to make earthquake work but it was too slow, not enough damage and was a no brainer when trying out boneshatter with some mace stun build up. Now maybe there's a way to make earthquake work better that I didn't build into correctly, but when compared it to boneshatter, yea...no brainer. |

" The only problem is that what you've said sadly applies to other classes as well :/ |

Warrior feels great.
Although I agree Boneshatter seems like a no-brainer skill right now: I don't think any good Warrior mace build is possible at the moment without using Boneshatter's ubiquitous AoE for clearing trash and its synergy with stuns for dealing heavy damage to bosses. Rolling Slam-focused build might be good enough for trash mobs, but it's not good for bosses due to its exceptionally long windup. And anyway, there's simply no point in skipping a HUGE damage boost with heavy stuns. Any other skills dealing decent stun (read: all mace attack skills except for boneshatter itself) synergize exceptionally well with it. Maybe the 2nd row "coming soon" skill might spice up things, but for now there's Boneshatter way or no way. Although it should get much better once we get swords and axes skills. Bump!
I started as a Warrior and it's brutal, most of the other classes feel godlike in comparison. |

I haven't come to the same conclusions as you and I'm genuinely curious about the differences in our experiences.
My passive tree is some damage and then the rest into armor basically. I'm using boneshatter a lot but I'm finding ways I like using rolling slam, totem, earthquake, perfect blow(the charge thing.), armor breaker. I know gear can be an issue and I might have gotten a bit lucky, but I think my play style hasn't changed much between not having much gear to having decent gear. Drop rates should go up a bit and give us alts lol. Anyway, I'm really enjoying warrior and have noticed that my experience is different. Like, I killed the Act 1 boss the very first try. It wasn't a breeze though. So only trying to potentially help. Also I am only level 20 so I'm bracing for things to change haha. Last edited by Auzei#6382 on Dec 9, 2024, 12:59:14 PM

My main issue is that there are no nodes that somehow make you tankier during skill casts.
There are so many mechanics that are incredibly deadly for warriors if you use a slow skill like sunder. Being vulnerable for 1-2 seconds while winding up just feels so bad. And when there is not much space, like for example in ritual, it is basically just "are you lucky enough to survive for 2 seconds before you clear everything". I think having a node like "+150% armor during channeling (melee)skills" would help immensely. |
