Warrior Feels horrible.
" That's pretty unimportant since dodge roll cancels any attack. Just roll out of any badly-timed attack. In time, you'll learn the proper timings. |

" The fact that it has a 3 second wait is really dumb. So either you stand there and wait until it pops, which by that time you've likely died. Or you've killed everything because you keep using another skill. Or you've moved too far and it pops with no mobs in or around it. Rolling Slam is cute, but it's inaccurate as all get out. And these are your levelling skills. The Monk's is so much better as the first two skills give you a moderate range attack! " Yes, let's roll out of everything, not doing damage letting them hit us anyway and push us around because Enemy collision is superiour. This game favours range (Again, I was hoping GGG wasn't overhyping their changes to melee, but I guess that was in vain as usual), just like the first one. It's absolutely true that if you are unlucky with good things, the warrior becomes completely unplayable.

I made a Warrior side character to get a feel for how the other melee class is (I'm maining a Monk). Immediately grabbed a crossbow and relied on shotgun blasts to quickly set up Boneshatter. Assault rifle bursts to keep armour break up when I can't be at melee range. Once I got magma blocking I felt ready to mostly ditch the crossbow for a proper melee playstyle. I don't consider it a requirement that every class has to have a fun starting progression with their default recommended skills. If anything, I wish the UI better encouraged non-PoE newcomers to look at "other class" skills.
Once we get the rest of the classes and their skills, there'll be a lot of room to workaround awkward starting skills which need support gems or next-tier skills to shine. Like Earthquake really being about setting up synergy with Shockwave Totem when Boneshatter puts a big enemy in Heavy Stun, which itself kinda wants to dip into the Monk's wind skill to get stagger up faster from further away. |

Currently 52 Titan and mostly agree. The long animations kill a lot of the big slam abilities. I was really excited to get Sunder, but who can deal with a 2.5 second cast time when you're constantly having to move out of stuff. At a minimum it should have the 1.4 baked in cast time removed. Rolling Slam at least lets you move around while lining up the shot. Sunder is just stand there and get hit the entire time and hope you don't die before it goes off.
Stampede is another one with a unnecessary wind up period. |

I'm currently 68 Titan in early mapping. I'm breaking armor with rolling slam and main dps dealer is sunder. For bosses I use rolling slam to build up stun and then default mace strike to brake their armor, after that seismic cry and sunder. In that way sunder can proc up to three times and boss is gone. My main problem is clear speed. Sunder really can use lower animation time. Compare to monk who is dashing all over the place Titan is mainly for bossing. At least with my build.

In my opinion the main issues are very long animations for skills. You press buttom --> character is swinging his weapon --> then jumping> --> swinging weapon again --> finally attacking. And pionts like singular purpose are reducing attack speed?! WTF!

Warrior needs a huge Buff,
i am hard stuck with the trials in act 2 and the end boss in act 2, its literally impossible as a new player, my gear is absolute ass as well, no good stuff dropping. my damage is abysmal. I really love this game till now, playing an arpg for the first time ever. i have grinded 42 hours, and only today 5hours on the trials and the act 2 boss. its heartbreaking to see other classes just breezing through, with no skill needed. I think I'm done playing until they fix warrior. Today was just horror |

I managed to hit 71 on warrior today and let me tell you, it is literally all gear. I don't know if other classes have it that hard but the difference between having good gear and bad gear on warrior is night and day. I got hardstuck in drowning city two days ago, rolled a godlike mace, and that carried me all the way through to starting maps. It's a little frustrating because melee specifically has a lot working against it, and even with a good weapon I still find myself thinking "I probably would have survived that if I was ranged".

" 44 here, and yes there's the long animation times, but another thing I've found is that most of the damage output is conditional - i.e. I'm playing a sunder build, which means I need to heavy stun and/or break armor for maximum effect. The other thing is that all the good support gems for sunder are level 2/3 and don't drop until much later - why? Had to trade for some gems just to progess. But now I've hit another wall with the gold molten boss (Utzaal)? Damage is simply not high enough to complete him before the timer runs out. My weapon is pretty decent, 2 iron runes in it, etc. Feels bad mane. |
