Warrior Feels horrible.
I think the windups are a little on the slow side as well. Or at least there should be a way to mitigate most of it if you invested enough. I initially rolled pretty much every attack speed node possible along with martial tempo in sunder and it only just felt comfortable at that stage.
Reducing the mandatory 1.4 windup to like half that figure would be a great start. |

Hey there. 85 atm, armor-breaker warbringer into giant's grip (shield offhand).
I've already done most of the content except of league bosses and pinnacle, can comfortably do up to tier 15 corrupted maps. I'm using mostly basic mace strike (which is amazing at scaling), and for the most of acts 1-3 + cruel all I needed was infernal cry into sunder to kill 90% of what the game threw against me (hopefully they won't nerf it). Getting hammer of the gods makes every single boss in the game trivial, as long as you have a 2h mace with big phys damage (double rune that to +40%) Getting defense layers for maps is somewhat tricky and might require a sizebale investment, and then (for my build) getting str for giants was tedious. I'd say warrior is criminally underrated, it has answers for everything in the game (clear, bossing, surviving), the only downside is that he is slower than other classes in a lot of ways. Also, sunder windup is too slow, I do agree. |

I am Titan LV 79
I have chosen Warrior because i like to fight as a meele. Overall the class feels very clunky and and slow and not fast enough in everything. I have 75 Resistances ( chaos 68 % ) Armor 4500 Life 2500 Block 75 % And all of that doesn't help. If you stack all these defences, it still isn't worth it. You need to do it of course, otherwise the mobs will kill you instantly. If you run normal / Magic Maps with low punishments. Maps 1 to 6 are ok (but not good) Cleartime around around 9 Minutes. Monk and Whiches are clearing the same map under 5 minutes. Bosses are no Problem. The rares are, with (in parts) horrible fast attackspeed and afterdead effects will kill you very fast. Just for your imagination - while i am casting sunder - many mobs shoot 3 times or at least 2 times. Now imagine frost or poison or lightning mobs, what they are doing to yoo. There are a lot of mechanics which 1-hit you. I love my class but it is hard to play. Right now i think i will wait till they fixed it. - Hammer of the gods has an casttime and animationtime out of hell - Sunder as well. - Warcries help - you mostly cant use their effects. For Example: Hellscream - Casttime-> Global cooldown - Cooldown - > 8 Seconds - Uptime - 8 seconds - Range 4 meters If I play in a range of 4 meters ( the skill was made to play in that range), most of the mobs will hit me, so i need to run away to cast another spell, and *suprise* - Its not up anymore, to get a use out of it. Hammer of the Gods- Attacktime nearly 2 seconds, + Globald cooldown + animation. = like 3-5 seconds if no mob hits you while casting. Same with sunder. And another topic are the mana costs. They are just amazingly high. Without manaleech and some dmg or kills you are not able to do damage constantly. There are to many moments where you try to cast or use spell where it seams there is no armor / block / resistance working. If you cast things like that you need to take care what is around you. -> A Magix or rare will possibly kill you from Map upper toer 6. With Shielcharge and/or Jump it feels faster but still not fluent or strong. And in combination with all these things imagion, how you will come to useful gear. The way to play the warrior is stun gameplay or cast something to get a benefit and kills out of bleeding or burning, while you running or jumping away. If you like gameplay like this, than yes warrior is good for you. Should you play warrior / titan ? My advise is: No. Till they made it more playable. " He do absolutly nothing better than any other class. It is way slower than any other class. The 0 to 41 is the most disgusting and badly designed thing ever implemented into a video game. Playing PoE2 made me wonder if PoE1 wasn't just a fluke, the guys have no idea of what they are doing. Not to mention, warrior is the only realy caster of the game. If you do a list of skill by cast time every spell of the warrior are at the bottom of this list. It's a melee class forced to play around 2 to 3 second cast if you don't play corrupting warcry. " He deals heavy attack damage a lot better than most other classes. And that's even only with just maces. What other class easily 2-3-shots bosses without any particularly prepared build? Warrior does. Just a couple of passives and Perfect Strike will get you there. And it gets pretty crazy if you actually focus on dealing heavy 1-shots. " Ah, I get it, you're in the zoom-zoom-screen clear crowd. So you inherently hate warrior because his screen clears are always slow. Last edited by just_dont#6539 on Dec 14, 2024, 10:45:23 AM

The problems of warrior for me at least isnt adds cleaning but big ennemies cleaning time, thir hp go so high you dont kill them fast anymore.
Compared to mercenary ranger monk witch and sorcerer the fact that you are mostly melee mean you have big down time in your dps were you run/dodge around. Early on I was fine with that i thought it would be the same for every classes but in fact other class are way more mobile when using skill than warrior, and way faster, ranger/monk get move speed, witch and sorceres move when casting, ranger/mercenary are ranged. warrior get? nothing. Most of its skill animations are slow, which make it look better than in most ARPG, but ennemies get so fast its ridiculous... Ranged crossbowman reload and shoot faster than one handed mace attack!!! All the big warrior skills are him standing charging a big slam, perfect smah on an ennemy. Secondly being full STR you lack Int and Dex so you have low mana and mana regen and also low chance to hit if you dont take the no miss no crit node or go search for accuracy nodes who are far from its starting points... Honestly it feel like warrior was balanced for another game alltogether compared to the other classes... |

The vast majority of warrior actions feel painfully slow, which can be awkward, unfun and often feels at odds with the general design of the game.
Passive Tree nodes such as Crushing Verdict and Lasting Trauma (and their connecting nodes) reducing attack speed exacerbates this issue. It feels incredibly bad to spend points that are technically solid dps increases, but reduce the playability and enjoyment of your character. This doesn't feel like a case of an interesting trade-off decision, but instead simply drives me away from even considering these nodes. It already feels almost mandatory to try and stack attack and skill speed just to offset how slow the base action speed is and feel like you're not playing in slow motion, so these sorts of nodes playing into that problem is quite disappointing. Particularly egregious example is Leap Slam, since you spend so much time floating slowly through the air unable to do anything else, while also still being hit by everything, even effects that seems like they should be horizontal and not vertical. Even with Attack speed support this still feels pretty awful. |
