POE2 Controller Disconnect kicks you back to login screen
|
as the title suggests, if your controller gets disconnected it kicks you back to the main login screen, not the character select screen but fully back to the first login screen, which was fun to learn in the middle of a boss fight lol.
the controller input method also seems to become disabled every time it disconnects, requiring you to go back to the main menu and re-enable it since this feature apparently cant be enabled or disabled in game, even if you had previously enabled controller support and saved those preferences. happened with both an x-box and ps5 controller, if that matters. connected via usbC cable. Got same issue. I am using Xbox controller in POE2.

Can confirm I'm having the same issue, I have a bluetooth XBox controller that is a little tempermental and briefly loses connection sometimes, and I get kicked all the way out to the login screen when it happens, even thou the controller reconnects a few seconds later. This kind of thing makes me stop playing the game.

Same. It's not wonderful to get kicked out when your controller runs out of battery.
And why is it not possible to use keyboard+mouse+controller at the same time like other ARPG's? If that was the case, we wouldn't get kicked out, it would just fall back on keyboard+mouse. |

same here. controller is connected via usb-c cable - no issues in other games. get randomly kicked out to the server-login screen. very very very annoying.

Not all session states are restored when you are kicked due to a controller disconnecting.
I just lost the ability to ascend in a local co-op game because one person was reading their options while the other's controller went to sleep. Upon waking the controllers and going back into the game we loaded into the beginning of the trial, to start again. It's been inconvenient in the past, but this time it's really annoying. First time the game made me quit in frustration. EDIT: I should have increased the sleep timer when I first ran into issues, so that's on me. Still, this can't be the intended behavior. Weirdly enough if the controller just dies (batteries) there's no problem at all. Using DualShock 4 with USB dongle. Last edited by Litus42#7065 on Dec 21, 2024, 11:28:44 PM
