Constructive melee feedback (Warrior centric)

+1 agree with all points.

I have Slam Titan and Mercenary Grenadier at maps, and the difference is huge. Mace skills need big improvements.

I can't even get past level 22 because the bosses infuriate me. Every single time I fight a boss, I end up in an elongated 5 minute fight while trying to just DREDGE through the campaign. I'm not enjoying this experience, and I'm not enjoying the gameplay.

I've seen MULTIPLE classes just bypass boss mechanics like they aren't there, warrior doesn't get anything close to that benefit while solo leveling campaign. You just get shit on by whatever the fuck you encounter, and your shit attack speed and move speed makes it even harder.

As mentioned in this post, the mace nodes REDUCE attack speed, making it even WORSE to level, while classes like monk just shit more and more hits.

I can't even stay focused long enough to complete the campaign, let alone make it to mapping. This character is too infuriating.

It would be one thing if my hits were actually giving some sort of payout mechanic, where I hit and it actually has some sort of genuine impact on the outcome of the combat; but the actuality is there is nothing impactful in these hits that are supposed to be highly impactful. Quite the opposite in fact, where the gameplay literally reflects longer gameplay time, due to STILL needing multiple hits and a handful of excess nodes just to make your hits matter more than either splatting something in one hit, or moving forward in the current area you're trying to clear.

Oh and, say hello to the boss that you do very little to nothing against; finally stunning and then the payout means very little due to the mace being so damn slow from all the mace nodes you took. I don't have this later game attack speed problem yet, but I only see it getting worse, and worse, and worse the longer I go because I've seen the nodes on the tree and there's very few alternative nodes to them. If POE1 is any indicator, less attack speed is a massive dps nerf, and a huge nerf to character utility in map clearing.

This feels like they entirely fixated on the mapping result, while completely ignoring the process to get there. The weights indicate that all the power is later and early on you're basically scraping at the bottom of the barrel for crumbs.

Idk man I didn't have these problems as long as I farmed, bought or rolled a few better maces

Are you buying them from vendors/gamble?

Are you using runes on them and upgrading your skill gems?

Melee/Warrior has problems, but damage doesn't seem to be one them

I will say damage was rarely the issue I had.

That said, the number of opportunities to deal damage without dying on warrior is certainly trying at times...

sure warrior dps is ok. Assuming there are no monsters attacking you.

It would be nice if all of our characters were public atm. You could learn a lot if we had more info.

If the next patch has no warrior changes then there must be some tech that isnt very public or well know. outside of just giving up and playing crossbows.

This is the kind of work you have to put in to play warrior

Great feedback. Pretty much agree with everything.

My only point of contention is the 5link/ 6 link thing. You don't need to 6 link every skill. You don't even need to 6 link your main skill. Most players are stopping at 5 links, which you can get by using a lesser jeweller's and vaaling the skill into +1 slot really cheap.

I've only really seen insanely rich people not selling the perfect jeweller's. When people do get a 6th link, it's usually just for something that gives QoL to their build like mana leech or es regen. Nothing big.

Once again, awesome feedback. Cheers.

That's a fair point. I might reconsider that aspect.

I just know for me doing end game bosses I really wanted that 6th slot to unlock additional potential for skills so it was madly important at the time.
