Ascendancy Trials Feedback: Understanding Player Concerns

+1, delete sanctum, or at least delete the honor system

Very good post, well written. Ascendancy trials are frustrating my friends and making it so they no longer want to play even though they really like the core game.
Is it GGGs intention that we have to follow a very specific niche guide to beat these things, then go back to our own homemade builds that work to beat everything else?

So, I made my own build, no guide, I don't die anymore to bosses or anything else. But, I have encoutnered Chaos and I can't get past round 2, and I am 5 levels higher than it.

Is it GGGs intention that everyone have to respec to ascend? Because that is basically what is going to happen for the majority of us that even keep playing.

I have been on since 2013 and I do not complain much and this all feels very similar to the start of POE, but only worse, somehow.

I can only agree with all presented arguments.

However, the most iportant part for me is that it must be fair and as less random as possible to allow players to be ready for it.

Man TOTA cant come soon enough unless they screw it up somehow.
One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.
I died during the Chaos trials, which reset the entire trial system. It required me to go up an elevator, and a mob killed me as soon as I arrived at the top. I quit.

Why do you have mobs that can one-shot you at the top of an elevator, and the punishment for death is a complete reset of the entire trial system? Resetting that part of the trial, perhaps, but the whole thing? The punishment is ridiculous, given the difficulty of some builds.

+1 Good summary of issues. 100% agreement here.
I have to say I am a casual 47 year old player here, so I cant just dump hours into gaming. When confronted with these "Trials" (Both the Sekhemas and the Chaos ones) where contrary to the way the whole game used to work -that is if you die you spawn at the last checkpoint- now you are forced to start from scratch all over again felt like a really cheap an unethical way to imposse some arbitrary measure of "difficulty".

Not only it feels like lazy design, what is worse you feel the devs are messing with your precious real life time.

I think the way to go would be to be consistent with the way the REST OF THE GAME FROM THE BEGINING WORKS, since that is what you trained us for right? That is: You spawn from your last checkpoint.

If from the very begining dying meant having to start from lvl1 again, I would not have complained.
