Unique items feel very bad.

I agree to some extent. Also note we are missing a lot of content from the game as well, including but not limited to, roughly 425+ MORE Uniques. Of course, this includes a bunch of high level Uniques that aren't in the game yet.

I do think that they need to quit putting negative modifiers on Uniques unless the unique is really powerful.

On the other hand I do agree they need (or might need) to overhaul a bunch Uniques that ARE in the game. Some just flat out suck....
Apparently from what I've been observing, there's maybe 5 extremely good uniques worth 20-100 divines or more.

And then about 120 (just a guess) or so absolutely irrelevant trash uniques that aren't even worth picking up to sell for gold, let alone bloating your stash to "trade". Save your wrist a few clicks and leave that heaping turd on the ground where it belongs.

Even as leveling uniques most of them rank somewhere between Pure Dogshit and Low Tier Rare for the level.

I only identify uniques I haven't seen yet, and every new one seems worse than the last.

I actually agree, I hate that instead of excited for 99% of unique drops I casually think to myself "Oh look at that, another chance shard." Really wished there was a alot more usefulness / variety to choose from.


I'd also like to see some more actual chase weapons in the game as well, every single weapon unique seems to simply exist as twink item fodder for new characters.

One 'unique' feature of uniques should at least be that they scale automatically with level so that it doesn't feel terrible putting a lv12 helm on with lv12 stats. At the very least this could be something they could do, short of just removing them and replacing with chance shard drops, which is what they ultimately become (so that when you collect 10, you can just poof your chase white base item, which becomes rarer than Chance Orb itself) except the chase uniques, so that when one drops you know it's good. All this in practice rn goes against GGG objective of being excited when a good/unique item drops. I see another unique wand/armor/helm. etc dropping and think meh, another chance shard to add to the pile.

D2:LOD allowed you to increase the base of the weapon. That alone would make many of these uniques more useful. Especially the weapons.
I agree. Many unique items have too low stats to be actually useful despite their unique mods especially when it comes to weapons. There are barely any unique weapons that could be used as a source of damage. Armor pieces aren't great either. Even using only 2 unique items with low stats and no life is such a huge disadvatage that you're often better off just using rare items instead of trying some interesting interaction.
Most uniques force you to lose out on resistances or things like movement speed on boots and such. And their bonuses don't seem to equal out to what you miss by using them.
Wholeheartedly agree. Most of the uniques are plain bad. Some are clearly meant to be used with future classes and their ascendancies but there I see the problem that the base power is simply too low. Currently uniques are nothing but glorified chance shards that take more space and a few extra clicks to get them.

I was so excited to see uniques drop and then I look at them, roll my eyes and just pretend they never dropped.

Like the title states the unique items in PoE2 feel very bad in my opinion.

We all know that unique items in PoE1 are roughly divided in these categories:
Leveling uniques (i.e. Goldrim)
Niche/build-enabling uniques (i.e. Facebreaker)
Powerful chase uniques (i.e. Mageblood)
Ok uniques that you can use until you get a better rare (i.e. Atziri's Disfavour)
Unusable Items (i.e. Veil of the Night)

However from what i've seen so far and carefully reading the lists of known uniques in the game so far a VERY large amount of the unique items in PoE2 fall under the "Unusable items" category and most items won't see a use... ever... but for me the worst part is the severe lack of build-enabling uniques so far.


There's 2 types of uniques

First type you,me and 99% of playerbase get

Second type is what PoE2 promoters on twitch/YT get.
