Account Compromised and Items Stolen

It is very sad to see this happen to people. This is part of the risk of using any 3rd party applications/tools in my opinion that interact with POE. Atleast this happened during early access where GGG can investigate and hopefully create some walls or something for the future.

I was also hacked, character stripped and divines and a few other valuables taken from stash. They missed a bunch of stuff tho. Wondering if it's the same person/group.. I have not used any third-party tools or connected my account to anything for POE 2. I think it may be that my acct info was in a data breach years ago (have since changed password obviously). 2FA when GGG? Why was there no email about login from a new location???

I believe I found the person by searching my items on trade, looks like they probably are selling off a few other people's gear too. I don't have high hopes that GGG will restore anything sadly.

Did the account selling your items also end in KyPoK?

Very surprised to see that it happened to so many people apparently.
I wonder how they bypassed the mail with code for login - never received any email email about it either

Same here - Usual MO, divines + exalts gone, character stripped, left the rest. no 2FA notification, nothing matters. Basically hackers can use the Standalone client to bypass any security you might have on Steam or whatever launcher you're using. GGG's website has no security to speak of.

Any way they use to get access to your PathofExile.com account will do, and there goes your account. And given their long-held policy of siding with the hackers on the issue, not much hope of getting anything back.

I was not using the overlay or any of the services mentioned here.

First time i heard about hacked account dec9. GGG just tell hackers you guys can work we do nothing we chillin. Look now dec 26 people still got hacked every day.

Same thing happened to me as well. On 12/23 I woke up to my account robbed. Although I was able to sign into my character, the hackers had stolen all the items and currency from my account, approximately ~500 divs worth of gear and posted it on trade. I never shared my email or password with anyone, and no one else has access to my computer. I have no idea how they accessed my account. I’ve emailed GGG support but I would be surprised if they would be willing to do anything. It appears I’m not the only victim of this type of hack. I highly encourage GGG to implement 2FA to prevent this kind of thing in the future. It’s extremely discouraging finding the motivation to build a new character when I know it can be taken away in an instant.

Got hacked, and that exact same guy is selling my stuff, starting to think its on ggg's end there is a problem

just dont say anythign the y just lock your account and then you can wait for day/weeks for them to respond jsut happend to me they dont give a shit about paying players

Got hacked as well.. few hundred divs gone. Not gonna grind anymore. I guess thats it for me for early access.

I used exile exchange as 3rd party.
