Devs wont be back until next week

Yea look guys, this ain't the attitude to be having. It reeks of entitlement. The game has been in development for over 5 years now. And while it does need more work, that does NOT mean we get to bully the devs into canceling their vacations and time with family. They are working people who deserve a break. If you really cannot stand the state of the game right now, then go play something else until the next update. Make your suggestions on changes and then go. Don't come on here and flame the devs for taking their rest, they earned it and they are going to need it to prepare for the work ahead of them.

Want some assurance that they are going to fix this game and make it the greatest of all time? Go to Utzaal in the past. Either difficulty, doesn't matter. Clear a good chunk of the map. Then, I want you to just walk through the area you cleared, zoom in a bit, and just take in the detail. You see, something I have learned over the years is that you can get a pretty good gage on the level of passion a dev has for their game by how much attention they pay to the details. The game atmosphere is amazing, but I really think Utzaal is a shining example of that. GGG really poured their heart and soul into the visual design of this game. And I think that if everyone took a moment to take all that in and really consider it, then you will appreciate all they have done thus far and have confidence that they will only continue to improve.
Yea release timing was a mistake but they planned earlier and had to push it back and they probably thought of doing it like any other PoE 1 league timing. All in all it's fine really, but not great planning to launch the beta test then leave.

The studio made more than 100 million dollars on the POE2 launch.

If people try to tell me they can't be bothered to have anyone at the office to follow up the product people paid for for more than two weeks right after launch, I'm going to tell you what that means:

THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

That's it.

"Hey, team, the Early Access release for Path of Exile 2 has done really well. We appreciate all the hard work you've put into the game over the years thus far. We know its the holidays and some of you were planning on spending that time with your family, but entitled people on the forums need you to work through the holidays. Your families can wait."

Wow. That's a nice big, and completely made up, number you got there.

It is the holiday season. Almost every developed country in the world, that is not named USA, see the majority of business basically shutdown for these 2 weeks. Hell, even military drop down to the absolute minimum manning needed to keep the lights on (and call people back if the world catches on fire).

Also, game hasn't launched, it started open beta.

More than 600.000 people bought early access, which is 60 dollars minimum (New Zealand company), and I presume tens of thousands supported it with a lot more, based on POE1 numbers alone.
100 million isn't very far fetched at all, and they will keep milking it for MTX as well.

This idea you have that the world shuts down for two full weeks is the dumbest argument I've ever heard. No. Most people do NOT have 2 full weeks off at all. I live in Norway, and we have 1/2 xmas eve off, then 1. and 2. day, and first day of new year off.
We worked Monday, half Tuesday, Friday, then Monday and Tuesday this week.
In addition loads of people work more than that. Shopkeepers, transportation, healthcare, police, firefighters, etc. All sorts of shift work. Offshore, industry and so forth.

I'm not sure what sheltered life you live, but this idea that you think most people have two weeks full off, and have no responsibility for a product release they charged people money for, is beyond ridiculous.

Ultimately they were the ones who decided to delay and go for this launch date, they could have all taken their vacation before or after "crunch time" of the initial few launch weeks.

People in retail also have to work in this time, do they not deserve a break or to spend time with their families?

What about all the people that took time off for the initial launch that got delayed ? Is it entitled for them to be upset about this situation ?

Tomorrow is still a holiday and then there is only thursday and friday left which probably a lot of people will take off to extend their vacation, which means the office wont be fully functional until next week.
This also means that 1 month after release the devs have been on vacation for longer than they have been working on the game.
Then there is also the fact that a lot of people lost their vacation time after you set a definitive launch date and delayed it.

So not only did you ruin thousands of peoples vacations but then your first move after release is taking multiple weeks of vacation yourself?

Call me entitled if you want but is this really a good move right after having so much success with the release?
What first impression are you giving to all the newcomers?

This no longer seems to be the GGG i fell in love with years ago.

How did GGG ruin anyones vacation? As much as I feel that this game needs a lot of attention I hardly think that my vacation time during Christmas and New Years is ruined over a game that needs fixing.

You know that there are options if you don´t enjoy the game. Spend time with your family. Go back to work. Play another game. Clean the house. Go hang out with friends. Go visit relatives. Spend the vacation on your couch watching TV. Those are all viable options for a vacation and can be used at any time of the year without a vacation being ruined lol.
