Could all of you who say you've quit the game
" Skill issue? Really? "Skill issues" happen in games like Elden Ring, Sekiro, Cuphead, Ikaruga, etc... What you describe is dealing with the itemization, crafting, and trading systems. There's little to no skill to that. The crafting in particular is entirely RNG luck. When you're leveling and have limited crafting items and gold, it just feels like garbage and there's nothing you can do about it. I've ended up in situations during leveling where I was stuck for hours for no reason other than no drops, bad luck on crafting affixes, and garbage from the gambling NPC. It just feels straight up bad. You end up being starved of gold and crafting items and you're just stuck with a crappy set of gear until you luck out with the crafting systems, because good loot sure as hell hasn't been just dropping in my experience. No. Waiting for an update for buffs, nerfs, gear, skills, supports, and mechanics to play again.

One initial thought that may defend the other (the 2 reps from GGG of the interview) side perhaps...their remarks were quite intentional (despite the lack of empathy), and it was in doing so for the best for the future, i.e. prepare those that think there will be change and that it will be diff from PoE1 (end-game/mapping) but he already knows it's a lost cause (currently leaning towards they are in-the-know re. general community sentiments [and perhaps there really is nothing they can/will do]). However, playing devil's advocate, given the past history of PoE1 and what many others have said for their track record - this also isn't anything new in a way...so perhaps this is again no different, and history repeats itself once again (in due time).
To re-iterate (TLDR): post-interview, (personally) my current (until more data arrives from the community/YT/forums/Reddit/etc) bet will side on past history, i.e. "melee < ranged" and "zoom zoom 1-shot" -- so, no real changes from PoE1, essentially (with the main outlier of the campaign for the 1st ~60 lvls or so...lol --- and new melee classes like Druid/Templar/Marauder...lol [bye Warrior...lol {I don't count Monk...lol -- nor minion/Witch...lol}]) -- and timing-wise, I'll just say 2026+ (so, guessing 1 more year of gamedev until full Release post-this EA). (Post this interview w/ the 2 GGG reps, I just decided to bite the bullet and re-rolled Monk [finally?] for SSF [felt the additional handicap of SSF would help Balance it out...lol. {Merc lvl ~64, Witch lvl 21, Warrior lvl 66 -- considering trying out the Quarterstaff for my Merc -- Re-spec Again...lol -- and yes, will still be on the lookout for future Druid/Templar/Marauder...lol}]) Trade is EZ mode. ;) | Path of Trading ;) | "TLDR: -1 Devs ohhh" (Lol.) | "I've played a lot of videogames. It's my primary recreational activity. Best games ever: Elden Ring and Diablo 4." ~Elon Musk, 2023 | "Dawg", "IQ 48" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ | [Removed by Support]

Quiting because Acendancy is bad. How you get it sucks, the nodes feel like just more passives. Just nothing special, none of them change your playstyle, they feel like they have very little impact. Just better than average passive tree nodes.

i think the reason behind players quitting IS important for GGG.
positive and negative all the same. i dont like this narrative that players should be silent. criticism is fair and to some extent outbursts of anger. but try not to insult or threaten GGG/staff. theres a difference between telling a chef whats wrong with the burger he cooked vs disliking his burger and cursing his entire family to wash doedres under armour. " Except there's also a ton of things wrong within the "telling a chef what's wrong with the burger he cooked" part of that statement too. That in itself "can be" incredibly rude, condescending, dismissive, and straight up worse than your second example. I am a professional pianist. If I had a random person on the street come up to me and start telling me "whats wrong with what I played", that is just about the rudest thing a person can do. There is dignity in silence, and appropriateness in power dynamics, respect, and human interactions. Self awareness is a big problem on this forum. Feedback is appropriate, when it is given in an appropriate way, with rationale and details to flesh out the full picture. And above all, it must be ASKED for. Or the power dynamic must be such that you have earned the "right" to give appropriate feedback. At least in this situation with PoE 2, it IS being asked for. But the problem very often comes in with the "right" part of it: someone who has played through less than 1 act of the game, can't very well offer feedback on the whole state of the game. They really shouldn't, it makes them sound stupid. But don't go up to a chef and just start criticizing his meals. Makes you look out to be a real idiot. i have not "quit" the game. i still play randomly here and there.. but i wont take the game serious or consider it a "main" until a few things are addressed
early game is terrible.. not "hard" in a sense of difficulty.. its just very limiting on gold and punishes experimenting.. and a lot of the skills are super slow/weak especially melee trying to fill out resists is not easy in campaign.. chaos resist is very rare for some reason. more items need resists as implicits or something. multiplayer is terrible. you are forced to wait for a team mate to revive you and the revive itself takes an eternity and they constantly have to stop mid revive to kite because you tend to die during boss fights. so you end up spending multiple minutes just staring at eh screen watching someone run around kiting while trying to find gaps to revive you. its super stupid. nothing in a video game should ever prevent that much uptime. there are also a lot of other issues with multiplayer. their group finder screen is a total mess and needs to be sorted by tabs for each difficulty and each act i could think of a lot of other stuff but these are the ones keeping me from really investing my time/money in this game |
