STILL ONE DEATH PER MAP
" Have you played poe1 at all? It has many of those same issues and they've been "Fixing" them for like 10 years lol |
|
There would be nothing wrong with the one portal limit IF they would design around it. Clean up the visuals, remove most of the on death/hazards and try to pinpoint any "unfair" feeling deaths.
I get that there's a community devide about these things, but I don't think it matters anymore. GGG seems to be aiming for the worst of both worlds approach, in the end nobody will be happy. |
|
" My God! Finally someone said what needed to be said... no one who defends a single portal can say why this is better than 6 portals per map and another thing, what will change in your gameplay if you have 6 portals instead of 1? ggg will add 6 portals on bosses, if you want a single portal, don't use more than 1 portal on bosses too! hahaha 10 years of poe1 and it wasn't enough for them to solve the meaningless random death problems... but the new excuse is that poe2 is a new game lol. The GGG team could be working on so many things that would really change the game, but we're going to get stuck on how to maintain 1 portal for a few more months and then they say "yeah we can't solve it, add the 6 portals" I think it's fair to only have 1 portal for certain game mechanics like Ultimatum Heist Sanctum LAB, but for the base of the entire game I don't agree, I think that mechanics with this type of purpose should be added with just 1 portal and then it's up to the player's discretion. player whether or not to do that mechanic. |
|
" Instead it seems clear they want PoE2 endgame to basically be "PoE1 endgame but with better graphics" and I'm left wondering why they're spending all this time making another game when they could have just dumped all that time into PoE1? |

" "Maybe this game isn't for you" like it's the same stuff over and over not even original lol Last edited by Dmo90#6022 on Jan 13, 2025, 12:06:46 PM

from any sort of objective perspective: be that gamedev, game-design, project-lead, CFO, metagame mechanics, casual or even supposed "elitist" tryhard players... in light of success, economic survival, long-term motivation and potential. as well as economic and playerbase health.
it is the only reasonable, smart and efficient choice. no matter how many insecure tryhards feel existentially "threatened". GGG will find out the short, smart/easy and efficient way. Or the long and hard way. They still need to fix their entire backend issues. As well as ramp up on professional support teams, processes and most importantly: to finally replace incompetent support dpt. management (correction to be slightly fairer: and/or equally sabotaged support management) - aside from making most efficient and innovative choices. In order to make the most of expensive dev costs. As by exposed processes, unprofessional results, timeframes and their causal, professional derivations - those are the only two possible options. There's a third one, tbh. But that one is in practice highly improbable and would still fall under managements' responsibility. Let's see how long those 100kkk gross revenue last. Until detrimental decisions start to really hurt. :) Listening to teenagers or elitists has never yielded success. (No matter if they sit in the playerbase. Or even worse: In actual "management". :/) Most players are somewhat "average". Be that in time availability, frustration tolerance. As well as expectations for sensible and enjoyable mechanics. It's not rocket-science. By any means. Last edited by ozram#3086 on Jan 13, 2025, 12:46:01 PM

Well, we will see. What is more important? The Vision or the Profit. Sooner or later we will get the 6 portals. If they want more players, the have to accept the "casual" playerbase too. 100 or even 1000 hardcore PoE player won't and can't support the game. Only hundreds of thousands.
Try to explain the defence layers in this game for the weekend players. If they understand, how would those people be able to farm the currency to build a build with good defences AND enough DPS even for red maps? I managed to build a few very cool build in PoE1, but it took YEARS. PoE2 is less beginner friendly then PoE1. What do you expect from the casual people? Supporting a game, in they can't even play leauge mechanics, because after every one shot - which they don't understand anyway - they even loose the mechanic too? It won't work. |

" There's no sooner or later, casuals will move on to new releases next month this is the only time where they can make a lasting positive impression or lose the market forever and be stuck with a 10k player game once again. |
