Defenses are a joke. My Sorc with no defensses never dies because she obliterates everything instantly.

My Merc with a ton of defensive investment dies 10 times more than the sorc with 0 defenses.

Damage is the only real layer of defense in this game and it sucks.

A very salient point. I look forward to hearing more arguments like this for why we should only have one life per map. They have all been very engaging so far. I also look forward to more "get good" comments from people with private profiles and 15 hours of play time.

So the solution according to you is to casualize the game so it becomes another Diablo 4 that people play for a week then never again?

YES because poe1 with 6 lives was renowned as a very casual friendly game *rolls eyes*

Making this change would do nothing to bring in casuals because they will hate everything about poe2 and never even reach maps

I guess I'll come back when they finally come to their senses and enable Softcore mode becaue I am done with this frustrating endgame. Awful announcement.


This game has a softcore mode, I think youve selected the wrong mode.
I don't mind one death per map.

But as a new player, i wasn't aware of the XP-loss. There is no notice about it anywhere. I was also confused to have to do the node again - just without juice - as additional punishment.

If GGG would have me choose between 6 lifes,3 lifes and 1 life.
I would take 6 lifes to farm and search for loot as i don't have to put my life on the line for it. If i were to choose between 3 lifes and 1 life instead of 6 it should come with a reward of doing so.

For example the modifiers of the waystone could be applied more strongly. This would then warrant more risk but also eventually more rewards by choosing to have less lifes for the same map.

Well yes. The same people who played PoE 1 with 1900 EHP builds dying 20 000 times on average each League are here whining about PoE 2 being too difficult. They never bothered to learn the previous game precisely because they could just headbutt their way through the game with 6 portals and still end up having a decent xp & loot rate per hour.

Thats a game balance and bug fixing issue and completely irrelevant to the discussion of death xp penalty.
Whats the point of this feedback , no matter how many people come and say the same thing .

studio head will just say "nah" i like it the way it is .
