Warrior Feedback after interview
"we dont see like you guys see"
its the same thing to say "we dont care about warrior", So why just dont delete this class from the game? Last bumped on Jan 14, 2025, 1:46:58 AM

oh man I saw the new unique change.
Increase small physical attack range but decrease 20% attack speed. lol Seriously with already slow attack speed, you're going to die before you finish your attack animations. "We love melee" - GGG I'll bet a nerf incoming to HoTG too somehow. RIP warriors Guess only the Executioner Boss in Act 1 is the real warrior. My somewhat-optimistic outlook is that the devs are mostly focused on how classes feel in campaign, and were caught off-guard by how many complaints focus on endgame. Jonathan's comment of "Warrior feels fine in campaign" seems to reflect this.

The balance is way off in campaign and endgame. I play hc and summoner is easy mode compared to melee. It's crazy that ranged classes can get better defense than melee when it should be the other way around

I think that I would have taken the interview and patch preview videos a bit better if they said they were going to increase the skill speed of most mace skills by 30%. The most annoying part about playing this class is how slow and locked-in I feel when I play it. Meanwhile, I watch other classes clearing entire screens in .5 seconds. I think I am going to take a break from this game and possibly wait for the official release.

I have to wonder what type of build he was playing in the campaign. Did he just cherrypick the right skills or does he just lack any experience with any other class to compare it to?
For me, I can play through the campaign just fine, too. Even without a shield. But does it feel good? Does it feel "warrior"? And the answer to that is, no. - I use Sunder, I'm stuck in place and wide open to attack for an extended period of time. And far too many things can majorly trash my health in that time. That doesn't feel good. - My non-shield warrior relies on tossing out Totems ahead of where he goes to bait the mobs, then jumping in and quickly killing things. - The initial 3 powers of mace, in Earthquake, Rolling Slam, and the armor break move all feel bad to use. Right from the very start, Warrior feels bad. - Pretty much every serious warrior uses a 2h mace and shield. This speaks volumes as to how messed up the situation is defensively, and that 1h maces are way too weak compared to the 2h ones. |

Interview largely left me feeling like if we don't want to play the same few meta builds warrior/mace is gonna be left playing slower poe2 endgame while everyone else gets plenty of good options to play the fun zoom zoom poe1 endgame they shipped in EA rofl.

" Which is bizarre. Because the Warrior feels awful in the campaign too. | |
" No it doesnt Mash the clean

" This one might be really difficult to fix, unfortunately, unless they give Giant's Blood some serious maluses that make you think twice about one-handing 2h weapons. My heart actually sank when I saw that node on the tree. It's the WoW Titan's Grip dilemma all over again: Why would I ever use a single 2h weapon or two 1h weapons when I could just use two 2h weapons, each with bigger stat boosts than 1h weapons? |
