Ascendancy Trials.
" Quickly do it? You do realize 3 floors of Sekhema is not something you just "quickly" do. Either way I can argue with you all day. I play games for fun, if a part of the game is atrocious (to me as an individual, and again I'm definitely not alone in this..) then I will provide feedback on said part in the feedback forum. I also disagree on your ER / DS take, I love those games. Funny how each person on earth is different huh, who would've thought? Anyway, end of the day some will like it, some won't. I absolutely hate it, hence I'm voicing my concerns, but I feel like I'm repeating myself now. Have a great day. Last edited by Moxeru#1852 on Jan 14, 2025, 3:22:48 AM

Bumping for visibility and for people to chime in with their feedback.

Force a two hour investment in if you must, but tone down the rng on that hourglass phase - including something that offers you no choice but death in content that is entirely based around choice, in a game that purports to move away from luck towards skill, is wrong
Even if it's only for ascendancy, those hourglass phases must be achievable for an average move speed character |

" Trial of Sekhemas is random in terms of how hard it is. Sometimes it's "here's a 40% speed buff and nothing but escape rooms" which is a joke. Other times it's... not that. It also is harshly punishing on melee compared to ranged and especially minion builds. The whole thing is extremely RNG heavy on how difficult its actually going to be and since this isn't a roguelike game, that is not a good thing, since some people are just going to have a miserable time compared to others. Honor is just a bad mechanic and I don't know why anyone thought bringing it back was a good idea. The trials are bad in general, but honor specially stands out as a "we want you to be as miserable as possible playing this game." |

I finished 3 floor Sekhema yesterday. What I think should be nerfed are afflictions. "You got no evasion" that's a MINOR affliction? Or "you deal 40% less damage". Really? No way you can finish trial if you get these afflictions. Also, I think bosses should give you multiple tries. Either this, or don't lock another try by rng drop of an entry item.

Thank you for chiming in guys.
Another thing I'd like to add about the Trial of Sekhemas. I just did a run on my monk for the 3rd ascendancy. Everything was buttery smooth for 3 floors straight, until one single Hourglass Room. This one room bricked my whole run. Tiny room. Big devourer mob with Temporal Bubble and Evasive, meanwhile countless adds submerging up and down spouting projectiles left and right whilst the temporal bubble reduces my action speed. How is this game design good? Like you spend 30-40 minutes on an RNG trial only for it get utterly cucked in ONE SINGLE ROOM. Come on GGG - if you want people to stop playing your game, definitely keep trials the way they are. I literally Alt - F4'd out of the game. 35 minutes gone, mind you out of those 35 minutes, 34 were just chill breezing through the trial. This TRIAL, has nothing to do with skill and EVERYTHING to do with RNG. Please please please address this. Last edited by Moxeru#1852 on Jan 18, 2025, 8:40:35 AM

There are too many builds that cant finish the trials due to trial mechanics and horrible RNG that bricks builds. GGG needs to take the blinders off and take out the ear plugs and take a hard look at the trials and listen to their customers. The trials are in a horrible state.

i like both trials. at first i sucked at it but now i enjoy doing them ocasionaly it's decent currency grind.
I like that you have to build you relic pool and that there's not only one way to make it works. I love a lil rng in my game. hourglass on last floor can be dangerous depending on the malus you got. You could get chain snare to death if you have slow on hit+ -5% hp per hit with the rare "jug mob". but once you know you act accordingly and it's all fine. rare occurence of busted affix on monster is part of the game and i think it's fun, not going to have a bad days bc i die in poe i'll laugh about it :D |

They both are not fun to play, I played POE 1 for 10k hours and never liked these mechanics, they are random and typically combine to kill most builds. If nothing else they should not take earned life on kill. They also need a large improvement in visibility of ground traps in the chaos trial. you cant dodge what you cant see.... This was a poor choice and I expect many new players with just quit before figuring out how these work and what is a good selection.

Ill second this and add, that its an echievement to somehow make something awfull in POE1 into something far worse in POE2. whoever in GGG think this is fun, should be supervised more closely going forward!
