Ascendancy Trials.
I just can't understand how GGG comes up with these stupid trials. They're so uninteresting, and the rewards are... meh. You might be doing an exceptional run and then suddenly die in the most unreasonable way due to some OP mechanic that feels completely out of place. The puzzles are silly too.
I've been playing the game for 150 hours, trying different characters, and if there's one thing that makes me want to close the computer and walk away from the game, it's these damn trials. Not because they are difficult, that should be fine, but because they are so damn annoying and pointless! As for the ascendancies, it’s all about unlocking some fancy nodes—nothing more. It feels like what should be a cool subclass specialization that gives you meaningful skills or mechanics instead just ends up feeling underwhelming. Yeah the key to both chaos trials and sekhemas being boring is just how long and uninteresting the beginning of each is. Both have this build up of negative impacts on you. Like playing a continuous map that gets modifiers as you play it.
Which means it's like a Dark Souls game if you had to full clear the area before attempting the boss again, despite normal enemies offering no challenge unless you fall asleep. Not to mention the random elements of the negative impacts, which make it seem like you have little or no choices when it's up to 3 options out of dozens. The whole thing is terrible and I hate whoever came up with it. It might be the worst thing I've encountered in any recent game and I just tried Diablo 4 so that's saying something. I want to meet even one person who likes anything about the trials to understand how. |

I tried, but I couldn't agree more. It's just a massive rng timesink and feels out of line with the rest of the game. Bad stuff.

Thanks for all the input everyone.

" That tells you more than enough - if you have to overlevel it by 15 levels, incl. access to lvl20 gems and lvl78+ gear, it means it's horrible. Chaos is easy if you can one shot stuff, and then run CI for fancy ignore all the chaos in chaos. But that doesn't make it anywhere fun... Yet, I still consider it the better trail. Imagine the 3rd floor of Sekhemas, and you get one of the underground worm/devours that has regenerate health and re-spawn minions. If you can't one shot them all - you might as well exit the game. The honor system is really lame - what's the point of having regen HP nodes/gear, or energy shield just so you don't get hit. |

Bumping...
Because yes, I agree with everything, but not hopeful for change. GGG is really concerned about needing to punish their players. They are basically like Jigsaw in PoE 2. The only way players can learn anything apparently is through pain. |

" 3rd floor sekhemas ? Lol.... Point of honour is that you CAN get hit, just limited ammount of times rather than infinite. The entire mechanic is EXTREMELY forgiving though. And you should really be in no danger of losing all your honour in any run if you know what you are doing. Did 3rd floor sekhemas on warrior ON level in SSF. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oh5QdXZTek Mash the clean

I have done all trials - yet as tradition goes, everyone's post is about how they did something and how the rest should improve their gameplay (minus posting a video proof(?), that's rare) The point was really about the one shot - the mentioned devour just hides and regen all their life if you don't one tap, while resurrecting all their minions, being invincible. The point was that certain mechanics, randomness are way too punishing and unbalanced. There are ways to cheese quite a few mechanics, e.g. blink and ice wall/shard, but the post is not about it. |

" The only time they stay underground is when you run out of range. So dont do that. Mash the clean

Trials are fine.
People having problems with them are people refusing to adapt. |
