So now you can die only once (for later maps) but you can haul back every single item on the map which in the past was limited by how many portals you had and inventory space? In PoE 1, going in with a full team also consumes all portals, which now seems to be changed so everyone gets the full number of revives. What happens if one party member runs out of revives but the others still have portals open btw? Can he just not click their portals then?

I mean, I don't have a problem with punishing death in some way other than just exp loss, but I feel this is absolutely not the way to go. 6 portals in PoE 1 are a resource, but one you have to share between dying, trading and simply emptying inventory. Granted, the last point is less relevant the richer you get because you don't pick up a lot anymore, but especially in PoE 2 this kinda changes with the need for good bases because of missing crafting options.

Why does the kinda refined formula for PoE 1, which is very intuitive, need to be changed forcefully? And then include special cases for when you only trade, for when you play with friends and only if you die, the portal inexplicably closes.

Well, at least it's better than having 6 portals and they all are gone if you die once. Let's see if emptying maps will have any relevant impact on the game or not.

Yes, in Poe1 portals are a resource... A resource that has been widely and extensively criticized. Dont you see the advantage of untangling death from the other "portal closing" of Poe1?

"Kinda refined" - it isn't refined. It is literally the opposite. A system that started that way and was never changed or refined.

"Very intuitive" - and a portal closing because you die isn't intuitive? That's a system used by hundreds of games. Gamers are very familiar with being punished for dying. Having a portal close because you went home to drop off treasure is the part that is strange - you're just used to it.

"The portal inexplicably closes"... you are being so disingenuous with your words. It IS explained. The explanation is that you DIED. You dont like their decision so now you're questioning the lore of it?

for me the breaking thing is losing all of your league mechanics if you die, not even the map. They are a bitch to put there and losing them was adding insult to injury.

I'll give this version a try. Maybe now the tablets and towers aren't complete ass, because in 0.1.1 they were horrific. I mean 1/10 geniuinely atrocious system. Now I have expectations of this being 4/10 or so.

I play hardcore , i don't need portals .
I don't even have portal keybind on my controller , i just alt-f4 and reopen the game so that the shader cache loads again , much more efficient !
