I just wanted to say that I am having zero fun playing this game.

same, i rolled a sorc and cant stay alive very well and do zero damage. WHite mobs can be tough, especially the poison spitter and anything ranged just picks me off so fast.

Bosses are tough, some are manageable but the ones that arent make it so much of an impossible grind that i quit.

I've played 6k hours of POE1 and wont be coming back to POE2 until some substantial changes are made. At least the LE season 2 is in a few weeks.
The game was borderline fun the first time around, and as of .2 is just not interesting anymore.

POE1 had small maps so if you hated the map or the mobs you could just run through it to a place you enjoyed more. No such luck here. You are stuck running around a giant map just looking for a way out hoping you don't get obliterated by a white mob on the way out.

I'm not trolling. I'm level 20 and it's absolutely no fun. It...literally feels like work. The passives are all garbage, there is no feeling of progression or becoming more powerful, gaining a level means nothing, and white mobs take forever to kill.

This is the most disappointed I've been since the release of D4.

I envy those who enjoy this, but I'm out. Good luck guys.

Edit: The campaign is absolute torture in its entirety.

I couldn't disagree more.
I am constantly getting progression and getting more powerful. I do not have this feeling in POE1 at all.
In POE1, for example, I 1 shot everything by act2. I can't 1 shot things harder than 1 shot, so I don't experience character progression until I'm in red maps and things finally stop getting 1 shot.

This game feels like an actual video game now, instead of a slot machine simulator.

Perhaps you'd enjoy POE1, D3, D4, LE or Vampire Survivors more?

This!! I am done with this patch.
I will find out on the 8th when Zizarian does the interview if this is the game for me.
Just came here to agree. 14+ hours deep, im only in act 5, the game feels like shit. If this is the direction GGG is going, im out too.

You should be playing POE1, LE, D3, D4 or Vampire Survivors if you prefer your video game to have no game play or challenge, then.

What I try to understand is HOW people are having exact opposite experience that I am having. I assume you are playing a new character in the new league. I just compelted act 1 and went to bed. but at that point no white mobs took more than 2-3 attacks. With the area damage skills the average drops to below 1. The passives are more interesting than before (at least on huntress). I am feeling stronger as levels go up, but not OP. For me the progression and fun have been the best I ever had on an ARPG. Seriously want to understand why some people have exact opposite experience.

Had exactly same experience. I played warrior in o.1, so for me it was kinda the same, and I think pacing is the same as it was, unless you playing it like PoE1.
i was hoping someone had already made this thread, so that i didnt have to.

melee mobs that take multiple hits to kill, while swarming me.
ranged mobs that shotgun, and scatter so i have to continually chase them.

rare mobs with minions as tanky as the damn rare?

and... to top it all off.. the BEST DPS we have is GODDAMN AUTOATTACK.

none of the early skills DO ANYTHING, so just auto attack because it doesnt cost mana.

and any support that lets you DO aoe damage, comes with a 30% dps loss.

this is arse.

The balance between different skills and combos is wildly off and it's giving people very skewed experiences while leveling. I have 2 characters and the difference in damage and clear is so vast it might as well be two different games.
If they can fix the numbers and stop being so scared to increase the drop rates of currency then the game will feel great to progress through, but right now it's hard to find the fun.
So, after drinking heavily I came back and did some research -- and you are absolutely correct. After switching to Rake/Stomping Ground, I was able to level up to around 50 with relative ease. I still died a bunch of times but those deaths were 100% related to my stupidity and lack of skill. I wasn't one-shotting everything, but it felt good and I even had some fun despite the fact that I don't like to play melee.

You are absolutely right. Some skills are essentially impossible to progress with, while others are "fine". This explains why some people are enjoying it and others want to murder puppies.

I think it's safe to say that many of the skills in the game are essentially unusable. If GGG wants us to test certain skills for balance, they should just say it:

"We've disabled minions and ranged skills for a week and want you all to play melee and provide feedback." It would be as simple as that.

If you pick a skill that you know is powerful because people say it's good, you will probably have some fun. If you pick a skill that you actually WANT to play, be prepared for the fact that it might be harder than trying to melt ice by pouring liquid nitrogen on it.
