To inflate game time, also kind of weird when the game is riddled with bugs that kill you.
I think players have done all the "git gud" we can. Imagine if Sisyphus boulder randomly glitched out of his hands, then 50 feet in the air, then back down to crush his head? I think even he would give up at a certain point. I like a challenge, I don't like tripping through a year of bugs that never got untangled, (well that and the decade old engine and the bugs already there as well). If it's actually early access, lift the permanent punishments until GGG works the bugs out (it would be nice to have at least ONE perk of EA since we don't get rapid updates, focus on bug fixes, and blasted with constant MTX packs). |

I totally agree.
This game has to make some change or the number of player can tell a lot of things... Its 2025 now... (And I won't even mention those terrible bugs/ lags... today i entered a boss fight and i saw that i do 0 dmg on boss due to lag but boss did dmg on me, and my MS was jumping, it happens a lot of time this season, im really tired of it... ) | |

Just another thread on a topic that has been discussed 100 times before. GGG has never changed that, and I hope they never will.
Provided your build is well planned and not solely focused on pure damage, you shouldn't die often, even when tackling the hardest content the game currently has to offer. For the very late game, there are Omen of Amelioration that prevent 75% of EXP loss when you die. They are not too expensive, given the currency you should be able to earn at that level. I played melee builds in versions 0.1 and 0.2. It was fine in my opinion. They still improved armour and introduced deflection, among other things. They also removed EXP loss from content such as Simulacrum and Breach. I hate this, since you can't use that content to gain levels anymore and are restricted to mapping only. But people still find it too hard and want the game to be nerfed even more on top of what has already been done. POE1 thrived on providing challenges for even the most optimised builds. However, POE2 lacks such content, and it is becoming softer with each patch. If this continues, it will soon become just another Diablo clone. Last edited by Denyla#1375 on Dec 27, 2025, 8:30:20 PM

" When will people like you, trotting out the same tired worthless argument get it through your thick skulls that there is nothing challenging about having your time disrespected. My early access feedback (0.1): https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3639607

" And when will people like you understand that for some people, the appeal lies in being able to lose something? Or how do you explain the popularity of soulslike games? |
|
" You don't lose anything other than time permanently most of the times you die in most soulslike games. For the times that you do (by dying before collecting dropped souls), it is usually around 10-20 minutes of playtime tops to regain the lost souls. Not multiple hours.
