loot still all over the place.
lv42 sorc w/30% MF, 3 chaos orbs drop from trash mobs in campaign on one node, cool right? Lv85 deadeye, w/80% MF, t15 map, no exaults, no chaos, no divine, 3 rare items from 7 rare mobs. Tie loot to character class!? Im tired of getting staffs, wands and maces for a ranger. And wtf is up with mods on items still being tier 1 on item level 79? How am I, as a player, suppose to progress with that? Tie tier mods level to character level!? Get rid of "Reduced Attribute" mod, its effin stupid. The only advantage that would give is for an item to be too high of a level to use, if thats the case, I wouldnt be able to use the item anyways. If I am high enough level, reducing the requirements doesnt help when said item would be tied to the class using it. Being a Grenadier and using a bow is stupid. The intended play style is to use grenades, which is used by X-bows. This means that players are using a not intended weapon to overcome a problem. Which means that class is unbalanced. I understand that since rangers and mercs both use dex, that mercs could use a bow. However, the intended play style suffers for the merc which is now unable to use merc skills. If I wanted to use rangers skills with a merc, why not just roll a ranger? If the intention is that any class can use any weapon, then I should be able to choose where to start on the passive tree and the passive tree would need to be totally overhauled. If GGG is going for a punishing slot machine game, it nailed it. This is a Diablo clone. Thats not a bad thing. It can surpass Diablo as a clone. Evey Diablo clone will always be in the shadow of Diablo. That doesnt mean it cant be better than Diablo. But basing the game totally on RNG makes it worse than Diablo. You sohuld just rename the game to "Punishing RNG Slot Machine 2", because thats what this game is, as it stands. You have a beautiful looking game! Its dark, its gritty, its very immersive in the tone it sets. Youre game controls feel great, especially with AWSD. I personally hate point and click, it feels cumbersome and clunky. Although its good you have it in the game for those who like it. Movement in the game feels responsive and fluid. Attacks and spells look great and feel good. roll/dodge mechanic is always a plus. The story... ehh, it starts off reminiscent of Grim Dawn. Its nothing to write home about. You have the tentacle thingy, (Grim Dawn Boss). You have an Evil Tyrael? Is he evil and trying to be good? He made the tentacle thingy and unleashed it, now he's trying to stop it? Is he going through a mid life crisis? What is this Virtue of Sin doing? Not sure how all the Acts are tied together. Act 1 you have a lord who was corrupted by the thingy but also is being controlled by some lady who only shows up twice. Act 2 we're in a desert? How? Wheres the world map? Act 3 we're in the amazon...? Then we time travel? Was your world building written by a child? You have concepts that have been done before and just mashed them together and said "we'll make this work". The story, world building, lore and protagonist are all forgettable. Theres nothing unique about it. The armor, weapons and skills are fairly typical, but the stat of armor does nothing. Everyone is basically evasion and energy shield. When I roll a tank, they should be able to face tank. Armor stat in this game means nothing. This is where the game starts to fall off. Uniques are practically worthless unless you already have said unique combos to play in a very specific style. Some of which can only be obtained by endgame bosses in which most will never see because being one shot in the game is a thing. This isnt Dark Souls. This type of game play doesnt work in this genre of game, but GGG is trying to force it to work. Im assuming the devs played DS after they made POE and said, we should incorporate this into POE2. The items that can be obtained feels too random. this is where RNG rears its ugly head and completely ruins the game. There is no crafting whatsoever in the game, save for, loosely, essences. The drops for "currency", which is dumb in it of itself, is severly heavy on orbs of transmutation and orbs of augmentation. Regal orbs very rarely drop but can be obtained by disenchanting rares, which takes a very long time. Exalted orbs are also very rare. Divine orbs are all but none existent. Theres other orbs which Ive never even seen. Maybe make it to where I can reforge orbs into the ascending orb like delirium. The trade for said currencies is super basic, nothing wrong with that, but DMing someone in game to trade for an item is so out of date. Its Diablo 2 out of date. Put in an auction house. Using orbs as currency in game makes gold irrelevant. Gold is only used to respec and buy junk items to disenchant/salvage. getting rid of gold and making orbs drop vastly more, could also be used to respec and buy junk. orbs would hold a higher value by serving a dual purpose. Using gold to "gamble" an item serves no purpose. Your just as likely to get said item from farming. If its because you lower the chance at getting ANY item from farming, then reduce the price of gambling for gold or raise the gold drop rate. Tired of opening chests and theres nothing. At least have gold drop from every pot, chest and enemy. The argument of gambling for money is at least its for that type of item is moot when I can gamble 100 times and not get the specific type of item from that class of item. i.e. dual string bow, i could gamble and never get one because rng is so borked. or run out of gold before i get one. Im just spitballing some ideas because im convinced the devs figured this may backfire and did the whole EA so they could get some ideas. Its basically a paid beta test. Again, leave standard mode for us babies. we want progression, not punishment. If you like punishment, use hardcore mode. And no, you wont be able to trade items or characters between the two modes. You can proclaim all you want that hardcore mode is the real game, i dont care, i just want to have fun. |

Now i am showered with so much items and currency it feels exhausting to even start a map. Just on picking items alone you spend for like 10 minutes every map.
Every map you have 4-5 league contents, there is literally no challenge in getting league content, on contrary you can't even play a game how many sh.. its on every map. Let us boost a single or 2 league contents that we want to play through atlas points in a waay more meaningful ways not this fiesta where you have throwed all at once. Also zero, literally zero meaningful balance changes on broken things. I think if you give every player as soon as they start the game 200 divines they would still want more. Disgusting ass greedy and lazy community with sole and only motto that more "gold" = more fun is ruining games, meh. More stronger and less white pollution screen mobs = heathier game experience.
