Forced 6 mods feels terrible

So now we HAVE to run 6 modifiers on our maps, every map

Because if you don't you're outright missing a table slot and that feels terrible

But also we STILL only get one portal per map, which... sucks

And then if you die not only the map is gone, the mechanics are gone, the loot is gone, the experience is gone you ALSO are gifted an empty map that you can add 0 mechanics to because... reasons.

This sucks my dudes.

Yeah, I agree with that for the most part.

I want to run 6-mod maps, but there are still too many things in the game that cause instant death. I'd prefer a minimum of 2 revives per map, unless it's some special map that should be more challenging.

LOL, I got shit on for saying this a bit ago.

I think maps should be the opposite they are now. Modifiers should be positive instead of negative, similar to gear.

Then the more you modify a map, the more portals you have. There are ways to balance the difficulty and input on both sides. The positive to negative feel of the mods will naturally make mapping much more fun- even though very little actually has to change.

Same needs to happen with all extra content. Chaos, sekhema, so on. Its all negative based.

Is it more fun to get monsters do +25% dmg, or -25% dmg?

There are tradeoffs here, as unmodified maps would be more difficult with this method. It would also feel bad to need currency to have more portals vs less, and a variety of other aspects. Also, everyone will shit on the idea, even though the concept could be implemented transparently. lol

There are simply better ways to do things. Maybe this is shit, even if its not, the community will shit on it. Its what they do.

Yes, I did just shit on the community. Lets be honest, it deserves it.

rofl, i mean what goes around comes around so i don't blame you here XD and yeh the 'community' here took a weird role of policing user feedback recently- god bless the community.

while i don't quite follow your idea of making maps easier- i like that mods would add portals, but that would need to make maps more deadly, especially along the tiers.

I played poe for a while, and i rarely, if ever, opened a new map if i still had portals up, no matter how slim my chances were. often losing tons of XP.

add 'death tax' and we have a game where more reward = more risk.
right now all you risk is the map and few ex you spent on it, and a bad taste in your mouth after you get killed without a chance for revenge/overcoming the challenge.
it isn't as bad as item rarity on gear STILL effecting ritual.
Not forced to run 6 mod maps. Not forced to do anything. Same thing regurgitated over and over.

You are if you want maximum juicing. If poe 1 had a 6 mod requirement to run max scarabs there would be riots.
For me, the only problem with the previous tower system was the lack of motivation to complete them at a high level.
If they implemented it the way it was before, but with the level of the map at which you complete the tower multiplying the effect of the tablets or increasing the number of maps it affects, that would solve the problem.
Also, if they multiplied the effect of the tablets, it would be a way to add better modifiers to multiply the experience as you level up.
Not forced.

Make a build that can handle 6 mod maps if you want to run them.

Risk/Reward.
